Hot Tub Buying Guide
How to make it work
Your hot tub is finally here. Arrived, set up and ready to go. Let's make sure you are all set to get it working correctly. First, check the manufacturer's instructions and follow them.
You want to be sure to do things correctly, because if done improperly you could cause damage to the tub. You want to get in that tub and start enjoying it now. You don't want to incur more costs or delay your much needed and anticipated soak.
Your tub needs water in it. So fill it on up. Fill to the recommended level which is usually within six inches of the top. Now you can turn it on. Maybe the delivery people alredy checked things out and all you need to do is turn it on, but if not, take a moment to be sure. Open the access panel and be sure there is no leaking or anything else that looks problematic. Open the valves allowing water to circulate water through the system. Close up the panel. Turn the tub on using the controls.
Your tub might come with programmable settings. Take some time to read about those and get them set to how you want them. This is a great way to reduce some of your electric bills. Or you may be more concerned with the tub being hot and ready whenever you are. Your programmable settings will allow you to choose the best way to set up your hot tub for your lifestyle and budget.
Once you have turned the tub on, go through the different jet settings to make sure they are working and to see what you may like. Adjust the temperature to your desired heat, remembering it will take a while to heat. Check back to make sure all is working and the water temperature is climbing to the desired soak temp.
As the temperature rises, you will want to add the chemicals needed to keep your tub clean and safe for your use. As per instructions, add your sanitizer and other chemicals to level out the pH.
Invest in a good cover. Keep your hot tub well maintained.
Most importantly, once the tub is up and running, get in and enjoy. You deserve it.
