How to fix hot tub HFL errors
Your display is showing an error code of HFL. This message lets you know that there is a possible low flow condition. A substantial difference in the sensors was detected and is the possible result of a water flow issue.
As always, check your manufacturer's instructions for guidelines on how to proceed. Be sure to be safe as you check this issue out.
HFL may indicate that there is not enough water flowing through the heater to carry the heat from the element. If this is the case, there a few things you can do to try to fix the problem. First, make sure the water level is adequate. If your water level has gone too low, there will not be enough water circulating through the heater. The water level will need to be check routinely as water loss occurs with evaporation, with splashing and just with getting in and out. Check to be sure the hot tub is filled the recommended level, usually about an inch or so above the jets. That's not the problem? Check the breaker and be sure the hot tub is getting power - sometimes an error code is a result of interrupted power and once power is restored the display will reset. Have power? Make sure the filter is clean and that nothing is blocking that or the skimmer. Check that the pump is primed and running. Make sure that there is nothing restricting or blocking the flow of the water and that the valves and jets are open.
Reset your display by pushing the appropriate button. If you still have an HFL error code, you may need to call your local spa dealer or repair guy.
