Well here's a case for wet testing a used tub

I left a deposit on a 2003 Dynasty Excalibur tub but I told the seller that I wanted to see it with water in it when I came back to pick it up so they said sure no problem and would have it filled today when I came back with my trailer. They seller just called me and said they must have left some water in it over the winter and it froze because the tub was leaking from the foam so I could come get my deposit back. Bummer because it would have been a great deal on the tub.

Do you think it would still be worth the $150 dollar deposit I gave them? I bet they would still let it go for that or maybe a few dollars more to get rid of it. There's a local shop that refurbs them and I was thinking maybe have him do it or trade it in on one of his refurbed tubs.

No. Who knows what else was stressed, the extent of the damage.  I wouldn't.

These folks may end up paying someone to haul it away.  Offer to take it away for free.

I talked to the refurb guy and he said just a ballpark figure to use it as a trade in it would be worth around $800. He said he could fix it for between $800 and $1500 depending on the damage. I'm not sure that it's worth the headache to move it. Still lookin while I think about it.

Ditto. If you're into DIY projects this one probably won't cost you much $$ but it may cost you some time if there really is freeze damage (maybe one cracked part, probably a couple, maybe more than a couple??). It may work out fine but I would not consider buying it and having someone else fix it or buy it with the hopes you can sell it to someone else in a trade.

I would actually fix it myself. I went and got my deposit back and after talking with the seller they want to try and fix it and then sell it again. After seeing them and the way they live I can tell you they will never fix the tub since they're to busy partying. They'll probably call me in a few weeks to come get it but hopefully by then I've already found a tub.

Not full foamed. They call it their Arctic foam packsge - 5" or so on the inside of the shell.

They call it Polarblock now (to resolve some obvious trademark issues!).
