ph and alk of the chart

got my new tub and since i added the baqua chemicals cant seem to bring down the ph or alk.

use test strips and show bright red on ph and bright blue on alk.

tried to add baking soda to bring it down doesnt seem to help.

Adding baking soda will not bring both down, it will raise both, especiallt the TA.

Get some pH down.

Take your water sample to your dealer if they have a computer analyzer.
If they are selling Baqua, they should have the same setup as my dealer does- they can test baqua water or bromine (not sure about chlorine).
 They can tell you what to add to correct your water.  Ph decrease should lower your Ph and alk readings, you might have to add quite a bit.  
I have to add over 20 ounces to new water because my alk is so high.

As Hot tub man said, baking soda will increase your alk readings a lot, and your ph a little.

Baking Soda RAISES PH and ALK. Vinegar will bring DOWN those levels.

You need acid to bring both levels down not Baking soda. Get some dry acid. PH down.

Another trick I use to bring PH down is to use a non-buffered MPS , I think the brand name is Sea Klear that I buy from RHTUBs.  The non-buffered is stronger (no fillers) and it tends to bring PH down, which usually isn't a problem for me.

BaquaSpa will actually raise the pH of your water so you need to keep it slightly on the low side.  Also make sure your calcium hardness is right in the middle of the OK range and you should be good to go!
