I was excited to get my brand new Caldera Palatino delivered today, when I got a call from the dealer telling me they cracked the cabinet when loading it on the truck for delivery. I asked how they did that and the manager said they didn't have it strapped properly on the spa dolley. These guys have been in business 30 years so it's not like I'm dealing with an upstart company.
So now I'm not sure what to do. I already asked the manager for compensation and he agreed to drop $150 I paid for the cover lifter but is that enough? I asked if there is any damage or hairline cracks to the shell or frame and he says no. But how do I really know? I told them that I will be visually inspecting it upon delivery but I'm no spa expert. My concern is that I don't know the internal damage that may have occurred. He said that it will take 10 days to get a replacement panel from Caldera. For the experts out there, whats the chances of there being substantial damage from something like this? Also, if they do replace the panel, would it be noticeable that it was replaced. When you face the front of the spa, the crack is at the left corner.
