For those who recall (or care) this is what my tub area looked like originally.

The way that the house is situated relative to the mountains, we have a wind that blows into the tub area 90% of the time (especially in the winter). This makes cold weather hot tubing very unpleasant. Here is my solution.

The side portion has a window That opens up, so that I can close or open the cover.

Cooltoy:

That metal and glass screening is fantastic!  Was it a custom application or something made up from generic parts?  I still have to make a railing out of something to go along the drop-off side of my patio.  I don't know if I could use the glass panels (because the patio is a freeform curve) but your posts give my some ideas!

That is really clever: It looks effective, and since it is not a solid wall it probably still makes the area feel open enough, and it looks like it fits with the geometry of the rest of the windows on that wall! Nice job!

Thanks.

The part beside the tub was custom made. I drew up the plans and had a shop make it. All the parts are galvanized and bolt together, so they are easy to take apart if needed. The full length panels are from a deck/patio store. They are aluminum posts that bolt into the cement pad.

Anne you are correct it still feels light and airy, we can still see the stars in the sky, but I we not have to worry about getting out of the tub naked and being seen anymore.

Holy maintenance nightmare!

Everything unbolts fairly quickly if need be, there is access to the pumps from the front, access to the tub from the side and the back.

The tech that changed the auxiliary control panel last Thursday, had no problems what so ever.

Awesome setup,   I personally would change one thing if it were available would be to put one of the front pieces on a slider so you would have the option to open it up if you wanted to.   It looks esthetically pleasing  nice job.
