Allright all you audiophiles....I just got my first SpAudio II installed in the mood room.

IT IS FANTASTIC!!!!

I hated the SpAudio I, I love the SpAudio II!

Since I'm somewhat hard of hearing and musically disinclined, can you good folks give me some suggestions for some powerful, yet tasteful, mood room music?  Thank ya'll....kindly.

I think some soothing carribean Merengue music would do the trick.   Perhaps with a bit of Salsa music as well.

The following is my $.02 3/14 worth....
For those that enjoy Celtic flair to their music, maybe Loreena McKennit (sp?)..."mellow" makes me think Sarah McLachlan, most Eagles tunes, some Pink Floyd ("Comfortably Numb" seems to be fitting)...Something a little more "upbeat" that I think would give a good taste of what the SpAudio II is capable of would be Fleetwood Mac, Journey, Marc Anthony (Spanish flair), Steve Miller...
I'd love to have music at the tub, but we're not that far along yet.... *sigh*  :-[

Play the music that the demographic of your customers can identify with.
For me any rock from the heyday- 1970's would work.
Pink Floyd's Dark Side of The Moon is a classic, or maybe some Steely Dan, Doobie Brothers.
And who doesn't like the Eagles, Steve Miller Band, Paul McCartney, Elton John, Santana.
Eric Clampton, is another favorite.

For younger customers, you'll have to get opinions from someone who actually recognizes pop music recorded after the late 1980's.

Sounds like Tattooed Lady and I came from the same era.  You listed some pretty good stuff.

Stevie Ray Vaughn, Robert Cray (Heavy Hits), Los Lonely Boys

T-Lady's songs are good (I'm listening to Clannad (Magic Ring album) now.

The music should match you mood.  Cletic, Kenny G, work great when I am stressed and need to chill out.  Usually after work when the ATC system is down the tubes.

We also like Santana (1. Abraxas 2. Evil Woman albums).

Barry White can get you in the mood.

Somebody to Love by Jefferson Airplane,
Losin' You by Rare Earth,
Pour some Sugar On Me - Def Leppard
Hotel California by The Eagles
Some Fleetwood Mac songs

Almost anything by MJ before he went nuts.

Billy Ocean sometimes.

For middle of the road we like Anne Murray.

We've got over 3000 songs on the hard drive so I'll stop now. :-/

Does the SpAudio II adapt to MP3 files? I'm sure someone already asked, but...I don't recall what I had for breakfast much less that.
Brewman, all the music I mentioned is in my puter as we speak....I've got more than that (by far), but I didn't think that Beastie Boys, Danzig, Lords of Acid, Adam Sandler and Jeff Foxworthy would be most people's "cup of tea" ;)  Anyhow...I'm babbling as usual.

I'd have a classical CD, jazz, country (old and new) ...no need for a huge collection--just 10-15 cd's that represent a wide range of music for a wide range of people.   I'm wondering why they didn't come up with something that would work with an IPod ???

The Vince Guaraldi Trio - I love his piano jazz.
You may know him for the instrumentals used in the Charlie Brown TV specials but the album Black Orpheus is great!

Phil

My "relaxation mix" includes Sarah McLachlan (of course), Dido, Frou Frou, Duncan Sheik, The Cranberries, and some Edwin McCain.

2pac or maybe some 50 cent

I believe he asked for music suggestions ;D  I heard on the radio today that Paris Hilton is releasing a new song that is supposed to open in the Top 10.  You could project her video onto the cover at the same time. (As long as the cover isn't green.)

May I suggest 38 Special or Boston for some excellent "jammin music". Feel free to air guitar while you soak! ;D
This one might draw some criticism but, the Outfield is one of my favorites.
For mellow stuff I always thought Jim Croce was a relaxing choice.
In the perfect world you could burn a "Term's Greatest Hits" CD.
What about that Texas band ZZ Top?

I can't believe you guys forgot...

    JIMMY BUFFETT ??

My, my, my........

Drewski

:P

I'm a parrot head. So I always go for Jimmy. 8)

For the pool and hot tub in my backyard, and for cookouts,  currently I'm in my one hit wonders of the 70's kick.   (there are several complelations discs on Amazaon).  On Father's day I had folks dancing to "The Night Chicago Died",  Skyrockets in Flight (afternoon deliight)" "Monetgoe Bay"and other music masterpieces such as "Beach Baby"  and the   timeless masterpiece "Harper Valley PTA"

However, I think for a Mood room in a sales enviroment, the music should be a bit more subtle and relaxing.   Maybe one of those "serienty spa" music collections you see in the gift stores? (Rain Forest Serenity).

But then again...if you want to showcase the sheer ass kicking of the music system....then party tunes.

Perhaps a selection/variety is needed?

Oh and don't forget....

Take me to the River  (Talking heads)

Get  a buddy with a CD burner to make several discs (a party disc, a relaxing disc, a romantic disc,  etc. )  that way you could select the right disc for the people testing the tub.  (you could even mask in subliminal messages behind the music. You know: "Buy the tub"   "Spend Money"  "Bald Men are sexy".) ::)

Oh...and how could I forget one of my all time favorites....right from your neck of the woods Term.

Ever hear of Marcia Ball?

If you like rock/blues with a Louinsana/South Texas punch Marcia Ball is amazing.  She kicks on the piano and has a great voice.

Term, I have already told you my husband's personal choice...Andrea Bocelli...always goes well with a nice Itialian Merlot on a starlit night...But we also enjoy Mariah Carey,or Lionel Richie..or sometimes just instrumentals that I found at the dollar store..light piano. We have two systems, one on the pool deck and the one that plays through the tub (from the house). So swimmin with Jimmy B, some Bob Marley,or Motown and soaking with a bit more class ;)
It's funny when I hear Andrea sing, no matter where I am, I can feel the warm water, smell the cool night air..he takes me right to my tub (can be a little dangerous cruising the highway at 70mph!)!
