Help with my Hotspring Pillows

I'm having problems keeping my HS pillows from falling off--they are about 1 year old. The molded holes on the bottom of the pillows are not very round and are difficult to re-attach onto the retainers. What's the trick to re-installing these properly?

Assuming they are the same as the Tiger River ones, they are a real pain.

First, don't switch pillows from one corner to the other. (I have found that there are slight differences in the way they fit once they have been on a specific corner for a long period of time).

To get them on, I bend them right at the hole and push like hell till I hear a mild snap sound on the stud.  The first hole is easy, the second one takes a bit more force.

I first remove the inner pillow, then bend the piece that attaches to the tub and insert one side at a time.  You shouldn't have to "push like hell" or give yourself a hernia installing the pillows.  Once the outside piece is attached, I then insert the inside pillow piece.

OK, I guess the HS pillows are different.   The Tiger River pillows are one piece.

You know you would think after decades and being creative the
spa makers could design a pillow that stays on. My brother has
a Sundance the pillow comes off, another friend has a spa and his
pillows also come off....I have a CalSpa and a pillow has come loose,
here is someone having a problem with Hot Springs pillow coming off,
someone else said Tiger River pillow comes off.

I know there will be people immediately post..."well I have
never had a problem"....well thats all fine and dandy but enough
people do that it is a problem that should be solveable if we can
go to the freaking moon and back.

I  guess that it is hard to find a material that would be appropriate for pillows and still be resistant to the temperature and humidity issues in a tub. I am curious, when the pillows pop out, is there a hole in the spa shell? what if they had molded tracks that the pillows could slide into instead of attaching with buttons that have to be pushed into the shell? If a manufacturer did that, you could remove them easily to prevent them from deterating from ozone and chemical exposureyet they should still be stable and not move when you used them in the tub...

I don't have pillows in my Epic, the tub is molded so that you can rest your comfortably without them. I actually bought a removable one for my husband, but he only used it about 3 times and stuffed it into my chemical cabinet...guess that says it all..he didn't appreciate me trying to improve on something he was already happy with.

well. I have never had a problem. ...ok. I have. pillows pop off. The TR has 2 posts with a flanged button on the end. The trick I've found is to slip one side firmly and completey onto the posts, and then you have to not so  gently pull the other side to get it to go over the flanged button and "snap" over it and onto the post. Sometimes it takes a good whack to get it to go.

The pillows never come off when I use it. It seems they only slip off when other guests use the tub. They must be squirming around to get the jets to hit certain areas.


My olde tub didn't have any pillows and I bought some of the wieghted "Saddlebag" style pillows. They worked great.

If the hole is distorted it's tough to get them on well. Anyway, the point about removing the inner pillow first is definitely wise. Another trick is to remove the pillow completely and bring it in the house and let it sit in a VERY warm area for 15 minutes so. This will soften it and allow it to be maneuvered much easier.

You guys are going to hate me for this, but Arctic doesn't use mechanical-type fasteners on their pillows. Rather, they are formed in such a way that they slide over the molded shell on the back of the seats and held securely in place. So there is nothing to wear out or unfasten. I thought that was also a good idea and another reason why I bought Arctic (no KoolAid comments please).

my arctic pillow fall out with other bathers as well.  I think people start to drop in the seat and push back up lifting the pillow out of its holster so to speak.  the nice thing like wes said is that you just drop it back in without issue.

Every tub that I have owned that has had pillows I have had problems with them falling off, fading, and falling apart. As long as there are headrests made out of foam/plastic/ or sponge like material around water you will have this problem.
