Breaker tripping

Hi everyone,

Wondering if you can help me.
I just got a new tub. It was heating up I came home and the breaker tripped.
The one in the house did not trip. Only the one outside.

The are both 60 Amps. Can someone help me trouble shoot... Everything was installed by an electrician. All I did was hook the wires up to the tub.

if my black and red wires were mixed up
could that be it or would the tub not even work?

You talking new spa or used and new to you, what brand?      I would suspect the ozonator maybe, possibly a pump and or heater.    Does it trip right away when it's turned on or after it's been running for a bit?

after its been on for a bit,
brand new

i left for a few hours now and returned,
it seems to be working alright so far, it went up to 96 (I wish it were a little hotter so I could use it!)
Just turned both jets on to see if it will trip

Could have been just a weird glitch?  If it's new and it does it again, don't call us, call your dealer!  Not that we or me do not mind, but it's your dealer that needs to resolve the problem!    Miss matching the 2 power wires doesn't matter,  and it will probably be fine.  You should know in the AM.  Good luck and what brand again?

The red and black wires both have an equal amount of electricity on them can't really get them mixed up. Think of it as filling a hot tub with two garden hoses, from separate spigots. You can turn the flow down on both hoses and fill in the same amount of time, or run them both wide open and fill quicker.

Look in the installation or users manual, it should tell you the maximum current draw of the tub in the specifications. Hopefully it is not 60 amps and you have a 60 amp breaker. If it continues to be a problem or if you are curious find someone with a digital multimeter and a amp clamp. The person just needs access to the two red and black wires you hooked up. The actual measurement would take then less than a minute to perform if you had the cover removed for them in advance.
