Great Spa

Our 2004 Optima was delivered July 14, 2004. We had our first soak the next evening. Everything is working GREAT! It feels excellent and relaxing, the entire family is thrilled. The air diverters are variable not just on/off like Jacuzzi. The foot jets are 2per seat, not just 1 big one like Jacuzzi. Most of the jets are also adjustable by turning the stainless steel ring. The air blower injects just a bit of cool air and it feels great contrasted with hot water. The LED lighting looks fantastic even with our Marine Blue shell. The filters must be working well becuz its Day 6 here and our water is crystal clear even after about 16hrs of use with 3-6ppl.

Date Purchased: 07/04
Price Paid: $7500
Recommend: Yes
Pros:
Powerful, sturdy, lots of variations for jet settings, Vortex jets are super, great whirlpool action, foot jets are strong and plentiful, there is an endless variety of jet strength and positioning, air blower is a very cool effect and feels great too, titanium heater, stainless steel trim on jets/handrails, LCD panels.

Cons:
Diverter noise when in center position, no ABS pan, waterfall would be nice tho not necessary.

My wife, my teenaged son and myself wet tested this spa and all agreed that this tub was very good overall - but not fantastic (see pros & cons below). All three of us just could not get perfectly comfortable at the same time in the seats no matter how we moved around. What makes it difficult is that my wife is a shortie at 5', my son is 5'10 and I'm 5'9", but then again this is a common problem that we've been running into when wet testing tubs. Don't get me wrong though, the Optima is nice and will probably be on most peoples final list when deciding to buy. We wet tested the Sweetwater Bahia right after the Optima and found it to be very much alike and with the Bahia being 2 grand less... we rate it above the Optima.

We wet tested lots of tubs to include Caldera, Marquis, D-1 and Hotsprings before we settled on our Sundance Optima. We absolutely love it.

The jets are great - plenty of power and water movement.
The footwell is large and has a raised area in the middle of the well with eight foot jets. This provides support for your body and a great massage. The water quality is awsome. We don't use any special chemicals other then the standard chlorine, shock, PH increaser and a clarifier). Also like the the no maintenance simulated wood. The tub is a real looker with a white and gray marble interior. The open sitting works well for us as we like to have folks over to enjoy the tub. If you're shopping for a tub it's definitely worth a look.

Pros:
Jets power
Excellent Water quality
Great looking
Easy Maintenance
Open seating
Comfortable seats

Cons:
The simulated wood siding doesn't match the grey stairs we received. Sundance apparently hasn't matched up their simulated woods with the stained cedar stairs they offer.

Diverters could be quieter.
