After adding chemicals, how long do you run your hot tub for checking with testing strip or taking spa water sample to be tested?

So salt systems generate chlorine. When adding chlorine you should aerate for 5-10 minutes with the cover off. However with a salt chlorine system I'm not sure you have to do that? Maybe someone more knowledgeable can answer that. What else do you add? Some additions require you to turn the jets off. Others require aeration.
