Hey Drew.  I have not posted in a while...but congrats on the winning the new Geneva.  I have to check out your earlier posts to see how you won it.

We have had our Geneva since the fall of last year and we have it on a paver patio.  Absolutely no issues thus far getting thru winter and now spring.  The contractor who laid our patio last year made sure he reinforced the area that now holds the tub.

You will enjoy the Geneva...its a great tub!

What do you plan on doing with your Caspian?

HI Marc.

Thanks.

I won the tub by comming up with 30 silly reasons why they should give me one ;)  ;D

My younger sister is taking my Caspain.  She is thrilled.  :)  I wish I could convince my brother in law to spend the money to hire a proffesional to move the hot tub. They'll be traveling 80 miles with it.  I'd hate to see anything happen to it.  :-/

How did the contractor "reinforce" your pavers/patio?

Drewstar,

It is a small world.  I know Boylston well.  Wachsett reservoir used to be a favorite place to visit on our many motorcycle rides in the area.  My father worked for a company headquartered just up the road in Clinton.  You are not far at all from my native Framingham, where my wife and most family live even today.

I am going to be installing a paver patio the first week of May. I talked with the company who I am ordering the pavers from and they recommended a base of 8 inches of compacted gravel because of the hottub. Normally they recommend 4-6 inches of gravel but because of the weight of the tub they said to go with eight.

I wouldn't worry about the strenght of the actual pavers. I am using unilock pavers and they are rated at 2.5x as strong as concrete.

Just like Cburk said....just added more compacted material below the pavers.  BTW we installed Techo block pavers which are a little more expensive but are really beautiful and have extra thickness.  Check their website:  http://www.techo-bloc.com/

Drewstar,

I will be up there for an NFPA meeting and for Bonnie's birthday, the end of May-start of Junish.  I like good ale.  ;-)

I/ve got a bottle of Berkshire Brewing company ale with your name on it. I may have a bottle of Gritty Mcduffs Scothish ale (Freeport Maine) saved in my beverage fridge.  ;)

Well, I'm tubless.   :-[

Tony from Sunwright spas (East Hartford CT) came by today and loaded my Caspsan up and drove it away to my sister's house.  Nice guys. They had a spa dolly and an inflatable wedge and had the tub packed up to go in less than 1/2 hour.   They seemed like quality folks, and he said he'd make sure my sister and brother in law would be taken care of.  :)

I've got to upgrade my pavers a bit this weekend (if the weather cooporeates) and  I'm hoping that before the end of the month  Artie from Dudley Hot Tubs pulls up with a  brand new Geneva  :)

Oh and Dr Spa,  the dealer saw my hurincane strap and asked me "got a lot of wind ?"

"Nope. I hate unbuckling the  back buckles, espically at 11:00 at night, buck naked and it's 5 degrees out side."

He was impressed.  "That's a brillant idea".

Gonna need another one of those babies for the Geneva.  ;)

The new tub has arrived from CA and is sitting just 35 miles south of my home!

I've upgraded the old pavers and added a small cobblestone skirt and walkway.  (pics to come).

Looks like the install is scheduled for Friday, June 8. 5:30.  I CANNOT WAIT!!!! I've been tubless for about a month and  I'm starting to loose it.

Finally a tub at the end of the tunnel!  ;D  Yahooooooo!

Why do you have to wait another week if the dealer has the spa? :o
