Price, jets, warranty, filtration, shell colors, among other differences.  Hot Spot is more of Watkin's entry level spa and Hot Spring is their top of the line brand.  What kind of spa are you looking for and what price range are you in?

I am looking for a spa for 4 people. I have been looking at the sorrento.
The price I was quoted was 4100, which is about what I can spend.
I also looked at the other hot spring model tiger river the sumatran which was 4300. and I looked at some made by viking.
Are the hot spot ones good?? I like the dealer I talked to and that means a lot to me.

The dealer can be important. You can go 115v or 220v on these. If you're in the Snow Belt I’d definitely go 220v, if you're in a warmer area you can go either way (though 220v is preferable). It’s may not be a premium spa but the price is very reasonable and usually when spas get smaller they get shallower but 36" is pretty deep for a 6½' spa.

$4300 is an excellent price on the Sumatran.

Better jets, better warranty with Sumatran.

If you want a deeper spa and just want to soak Sorrento is great.

Those a really low prices.  What are you getting for $4300?

both of them i get the spa, delivery, a cover, steps and chemicals

actually now that i am looking the sumatran may be more , that was the 06 price and i didn't get the 07 price.

Don't be nervous.  Take your time.  Get the one you want.  Again, if you want better jets, get a Sumatran if it is in your budget.  If you want a soaking tub backed by the Industry Leader, get the Sorrento.  If they have an '06 Sumatran for $4300, grab it if you are comfortable with it.

I have a 2005 Hot Spot Sorrento and love it!

Sure there are less jets and fancy features, but what is there works great.  You have 1 deep seat with a nice back massage and more just plain soaking in the others.  I really like the foot jets, but depending on your height it may or may not be awkward.

If you have kids, the 2 different heights of cool down seats are a nice plus.

+1 on Hot Spot here. I found myself looking at all kinds of spas with features I didn't need, or want to pay for. The Hot Spot line seemed to be less wizzers and bangers, and priced accordingly. I have the Majorca, the quality is excellent, and the dealer, a Hot Springs dealer, has been more than helpful.
