Sundance SunSpa Check Spa Status Display
« on: May 16, 2007, 02:07:23 pm »
Hi Everyone, newbie here waiting for my new hotub to come in a few weeks, I'd asked my dealer about this item, but she wasn't too helpful on it as she hadn't seen one yet.

Here's the blurb from Sundance's website, it's listed under accessories\Accessories Bazaar if you'd like to check out the picture as well.

"Check your hot tub's temperature from the comfort of your home with the SunSpa Check. Simple to set up and operate, it displays either Fahrenheit or Celsius temperature. The SunSpa Check is effective up to 150 feet (50 yards). It may be wall mounted or used as a desk top unit. The SunSpa Check is compatible with select 2007 Sundance spas. Remember to order a sensor with the SunSpa Check (sensor required to enable display).

Item #: 6472-678, SunSpa Check
Item #: 6472-844, Heat Sensor "

To me it seems like it'd be pretty handy to monitor the tub's temps in the winter.  Any Sundance dealers familiar with it, and what it costs ballpark?  Any one using one?

Thanks in advance.  I'm loving this forum, been lurking for a week just sponging up info and getting more excited for my tub by the day.

That seems like a need option to offer.

Last night I was getting ready to enter my tub with a
young lady and was wondering about the water temp.

The weather in Dallas has been fluctuating alot and I
was like "umm wonder if the water is going to be too warm?".

So when I went out to take the cover off the first thing I looked
at was the temp and luckily it was down at 97. I could not
remember what I had left it at a few days earlier.

So yeah it would have been cool to have the option of
checking it from inside my house from my recliner before
we threw the bathing suits on.

Is it a necessity?...Of course not....Just like TV remotes
are not a necessity either.

But if it wasn't too expensive I would order one if I had a Sundance.

Way to go Sundance!

What about being able to change the temp from your chair??

Bullfrog spas has this feature. In winter i need to go outside to set the temp from 100 to 104. it would be nice to do it from upstaires.

I know from when I was shopping that certain manufacturers do offer the option to adjust tempeture remotely.  This is definetly a case of want not need, but as I like gadgets, it seemed like a cool toy if the price is right.

Really?

Wow....way to go Bullfrog!

My brother in Colorado would love to have that option.

Sometimes it is extremely cold where he is and he has to
run/slide/slip down the pathway to his tub to check/change the temp.

Are you SURE it's at the temperature you set it at?  I would hate to not use my tub for a few days in the dead of winter and go out to find it much colder than it is supposed to be.  If you had one of these items, you would know that there is a problem and could contact the dealer.

It looks like a lesser form of the Spa Monitor from Balboa   thats been around for a while.
Bullfrog isnt the only company that has this if you have a higher end Balboa pack you can get it installed on your tub. Heres more info  http://www.balboa-instruments.com/page181.html
