Consider a nice, neat Drambuie when you soak as well.  The heather honey and the 12 year old scotch really soothes the throat and opens the sinuses...and after a few, you won't care about being sick!  8-)

Last week my uncle suggested I gargle with vodka. I was THIS CLOSE to trying it, too......Drank a little port instead, and it did help.

I got home from work last night at 2am, and immediately went out to the tub. The steam was awesome to breathe, and all my muscle aches vanished......and I fell asleep in the water.

my hubby's been feeling chilly lately...and I keep getting at him about hitting the tub, however, it's been breezy/windy lately, and it's kept us from using the tub.  When the weather first started to get chilly, though, I found this is the ONE thing available to me to thaw out my chilly toes before bedtime...
I'm waiting to get sick again (1-2 times per year), but so long as I'm not feeling dizzy (or more than normal) and nauseous, I'm game.....
Keep those horny toads OUT of my tub, though....I already have a horndogger to contend with!!

If you can't find a horny toad up there in the frigid north, make yourself a poultice out of liverwort, possum squib, turpentine, and crawfish coot....it'll knock your fever down and relieve your pleurisy.

where exactly IS an opossum's "squib", and a crawfish's "coot" Or is "coot" short for uh....and if it is, I don't wanna use/touch/see it, tyvm.

Most of the ingredients can be found in your own backyard.  The horny toads are somewhat plentiful in this area, though the fireants have culled their population somewhat.  Thank goodness they are horny and repopulate quickly, much more so than the alternative lifestyle toads who do not engage in procreation, only recreationally and anonymously.

Liverwort, possum squib, horseradish, crawdad coot, and chewin' tobacco are readily available at your local Piggly Wiggly.  Some of the more exotic ingredients (goatnad, juju poot, cankerwhore, scrote scrape, and Eau d' Fester) you'll probably have to get from the health food store.

If you're truly dying, and you have the strength, give me your symptoms and I'll work up a tonic recipe for you.  Sorry to hear that you, anne, and What Not are feeling poorly.

I will say this though, and I'm sorry if it is a little gross: I never knew how freakish tonsils could look when aggrivated and my head just does not seem big enough to hold all the stuff I'm blowing out my nose!
