I know this isn't about hot tubs,
and may get moved but I just
wanted to tell you guys.....

Well the scum-bags struck.......again.
 
I place a life size Christmas nativity scene
in my front yard every Christmas season.
 
About 5 years ago at a different house
vandals drove through my yard and ran over
my entire Christmas nativity scene and badly
damaged it.
 
I have all the large figures cabled down
locked securely and the smaller ones cabled
but not quite as secure.
 
Last night some hoodlums ripped out
and stole the baby Jesus from the manger.
Luckily no other damage, just stole Jesus.
 
They will not "win"...next year the manger
scene will appear either from my roof or
from inside my house.....
 
Of course maybe now that they have
baby Jesus...maybe he will eventually
come into their hearts and they will
grow up and realize what they are doing.

A few years back, kids (I guess) drove through my sister's yard and took out the holiday decorations. Since then, they added some pretty shiny packages around the Santa Train. The brightly wrapped packages were filled with CMU blocks. They have not been tested.

For us Dummies  CMU Blocks = Cinder blocks.  (I had to look it up.)

Zep, thanks for sharing that. Probably kids doing it but IMO the most intolerance in our society comes from those who claim to be the most tolerant. Their favorite target - Christianity or anything having to do with Christ or Christmas. Pretty hypocritical if you ask me. Maybe you should display a Buddha or Mohammed - nothing would probably be taken or destroyed!

Concrete blocks sound like a good plan. Might be fun to put in some of those things that blow out the tires or perhaps a nice concrete post sunk into the ground disguised as a palm tree. Would serve em right!

Don't know about theft though. I suppose a surveillance camera might help. Or maybe you could put trip wires on the figures connected to a mace or tear gas dispenser and an alarm siren. Or at least some kind of permanent dye so you could ID the a$$holes involved. Of course dye could damage your own figures.

Yes,  mace or tear gas is much better!

I suppose high voltage electricity would be out of the question although that could be kinda entertaining...

You should set up a video camera with motion detection. I'm sure your local police would be very interested in using a video to help prosectute these punks.

I was watching the Today Show a couple of days ago and they were talking to a homeowner who did just that.  He had problems with his XMas decorations getting vandalized and put in a small video camara.

Turned out to be a neighbor and they ended up arresting the guy!  Pretty pathetic video....big fat guy destroying a blow up snowman with a bat.  Now THAT'S a scumbag!

that sucks....people are the reason I don't enjoy going out anymore. I'm pretty middle of the road as far as letting things that annoy me slide...if you saw how decorated my neighbor's house is for EVERY Hallmark holiday, you'd know what I mean....  
Well, hopefully now that someone's "found Jesus", they'll be able to start making GOOD decisions.....If I had a spare, I'd send you one.
