hello guys and gals. firstly i'd like to say i've been reading this forum for at least six weeks b4 i joined in....always informative. my wife and i just purchased a thermo spa, lexington gold series. after the salesman made his pitch and we got him down to the most we would pay for it, we made a trip up to the factory in conn. to wet test and see how they were made. the only problem was they didn't have a lexington available for wet testing but we did wet test another model and were pleased as to the jet pressure and configuration. my question is, if we haven't taken delivery yet, how possible might it be to get out of the tub if we found something else we liked better. this was the only one we tested and the wife had to have it. fellas, we know how that is

You know, even if yo ucan't get out of it, I'd try. Rumor has it, that if you don't buy, Magicallym the salesman always finds a better deal.  

What was the cost of the lexington?

It all depends on the dealer and your contract.  You are dealing with the factory with Thermo Spa.  Did you buy it at the factory or at home?  If at home you legally have 3 business days to cancel.  also, how did you make your deposit?  If with a credit card you may have some leverage.

It is know with Thermo you can almost always negociate a better price.

put down 2200.00 some 5 weeks ago by check. we made the deal at home then drove to the factory to test and tour. i know i have 72 hrs to change my mind but thats long gone. we live in dc and i really want to test some more before committing myself and my hard earned dollars.. anymore suggestions?

I don't know how ThermoSpas operates.  We issue refunds when someone cancels.  I am curious how other dealers on the forum handle cancelations.

We offer their refund in lead.

Actually, we had a problem yesterday.  A lady told me a couple of weeks ago she wanted a Grandee.  I told her "Great, we are ordering a truck of spas tomorrow.  If you tell me what color you want, I'll order it."

3 days passed and she called me back.  We managed (through some effort) to get her spa on the first truck.  She was happy.

The truck was supposed to be here last Friday.  It wasn't.  She wasn't happy.  We told her it would be here Monday.  It wasn't, she wasn't happy.  It got here Tuesday, we delivered the spa, it had a Soothing Stream instead of a Bella Fontana.  She wasn't happy and wanted a discount.  We apologized, said no discount as we want you to have the exact spa you want, and offered to leave the spa there for her to use during the holidays until we can get her spa in after the first of the year.

She's happy, we're happy, everybody's freaking happy as pie!

If she hadn't been happy, we'd have given her deposit back if she'd put one down (she didn't).

I have heard some horrible stories about that spa line.  I hope that they dont screw you over.

Actually, I was shocked to hear you purchased a ThermaSpa for $7K.   Most folks pay HUGE bucks (a-la 10K +),

But I did some research, and the Lexinton is a 3 person, 200 gallon tub





Was this a 220 model? What did it have for pumps? What did you configure for jets?

well here's the update on the thermospa; wife called and they told her that it was a 25% restocking fee. since that it what we put down on the tub we would in effect lose the down payment...oh well

 we got the gold package that has 2 pumps for the jets, 1 pump for circ and 1 air pump... 52 jets total. 36 therapy and 16 air...
