HOT Hot Tubs
« on: October 12, 2006, 12:33:11 pm »
Well it sure was Monday.
A trailer/container full of 12 Sundance and Jacuzzi
spas on the way to our store was stolen when the driver
parked and locked the rig in a roadside lot and left for a
couple of days.
We had three sold and scheduled this week and five others
sold for future delivery.
It wasn't much fun calling the customers, but most took it ok.
The factory is great and is putting a hot rush on replacements.
So shoppers beware, your hot deal on that spa for sale from
a non-dealer, may just be that, HOT.
Dealer's, if you are servicing a spa from a curious source, the
factory has the serial numbers.

Why do I feel like my Optima was on that truck!  It'll be five weeks tomorrow since I ordered it.  Just what I want to hear -- the factory will be working on replacements rather than GETTING ME MY DARN SPA!!!!

Was it stolen here in the area, or somewhere in transit?  It didn't go through Ann Arbor did it?

His store, one of the finest looking showrooms in the country, is located on the west side of Columbus, Ohio. Oddly enough they don't seem to offer a scarlet and gray model. Why is that Mike?

Sorry to hear about that mjb. :(It never seems to amaze me what people do anymore. My Jacuzzi is due in about a week or two, hopefully I have some better luck. :) Sorry again and I hope this doesn't hurt your business.

Mind if I ask how long it's been since you ordered?  My Sundance is over five weeks now... wondering if that's normal for them this time of year.

pg, it must be torture waiting five weeks for your spa. can't your dealer give you an updated delivery date?

I asked for an update about two weeks ago and was told "it'll probably be about two more weeks". ::)   I'm going to call the dealer rep that we bought the tub from on Monday to ask him for an update cuz yeah, 5-6 weeks is a long time to have that much money tied up and nothing to show for it!  Could the delay be something that the dealer is somehow causing, or is it more likely an issue at the factory?

My dealer told me 3-4 weeks max. She said that some shell colors take longer due to the acrylic manufacturers being overwhelmed with new colors. I stuck with a pretty common color(platinum),she said that the newer colors can take up to 7 weeks due to their high demands.

Most manufacturers just have longer lead times for production. Has nothing to do with demand.

So your saying that if a manufacturer sold 500 spas of the same shell color in one month nationwide that their acrylic manufacturer would be able to get you that color spa in the same time it would take to get a color that only sold 5 in the same month.
