Spa Monitor
« on: September 16, 2006, 08:21:11 am »
One of the options I purchased with my new hot tub was a spa monitor. It's made by Balboa and allows me to monitor and change spa temerature remotely as well as providing a warning and diagnostic window into the spa. I was wondering if anyone else has this option and whether you found it useful.

Was it a Marquis?  When I looked at Marquis the spa monitors looked very cool.

It was an option on my Bullfrog Spa, model 562. It was about a $200 option. Wondering if anyone else has one and what they think of it.

Repeat, I have the spa monitor on my Marquis tub. My sister actually purchased it as a Christmas present for me.  I love the convenience.
I can adjust the temperature from the house and I know pretty much what is going on in the tub at any given time. It is nice knowing if there is a problem in the winter, you have an alarm system to alert you.

There is one thing that I would caution you about.... I was getting some interference from my Radio Shack 5.8 ghz cordless phone...the alarm would go off because the remote would lose contact with the spa. When I finally realized that the phone was the problem and removed it from the room, everything was fine. I would pay $200.00 for this option. ;)

I love mine, it was the deal closer with my Epic.
I left it with my neighbor when on Vaca last winter

I bought this one:
 http://www.nu-temp.com/600.htm
It doesn't allow any adjustments. It just monitors temperature. I paid 20+sh  for 1 receiver and 2 transmitters last fall. It now looks like you get 2 receivers and 2 transmitters for 30+sh.
