2006 Optima Cir Pump Question
« on: September 12, 2006, 11:55:36 pm »
I am a new Optima owner (30 days) and seem to be having some problems with my circ pump.  I have it set for 24hr circulation but it only seems to come on when I have the temp set higher than the current tub temp.  It almost acts as if it is putting itself into its "summer logic" setting.  I am not sure what is going on.  I recently just changed the jumper to indicate that it is on a 60A circuit(JP9-7).  I dont' think I was having any problems before this change but I could be mistaken.  Does anyone have any ideas?  Thanks!

Mine does not run if the temperature of the water is two degrees or more below the setting of the thermostat. For example, thermostat is set at 101. Pump runs at 100 or 101 degrees. Pump shuts off if water is 99. Don't ask me why, it just does.

Does your screen read "standard" in the lower right? If so, your pump should run if the temperature is as described. Push "mode" to make "standard" appear. It either "standard" or no reading on mine. No reading is summer mode on mine.

Hope that helps.

Hi,

My 05 does the same thing.  I believe it's by design, since the equipment also generates heat, having it shut off when the temp has exceeded the setting prevents an "overheated" spa.  Like there is such a thing. ;D

What I paid?  Not probably a fair representation of the real market.  I made a deal on a "new" 04 however when it was delivered, not only was in not new, but was busted up really bad.

They took back the 04 and provided an 05 for the same price. 8-)
