Anything Wrong with shocking with MPS?
« on: August 26, 2006, 03:45:47 pm »
I have read on her that many members do not suggest shocking regualarly with MPS. Why? Does MPS hurt the tub if it is used to offten? I personally think it is easier the shock with MPS to get CC levels down. Should I not use MPS in my tub every week. The N2 tube my dealer gave me stated to use MPS before each use and shock once a week with MPS. I have been adding 1 tsp of dichlor after using and 1.5 oz of MPS for shock once a week. Should I change this method. Thanks Steve

You can do it that way. The only thing that MPS will do is add to the TDS (Total Disolved Solids) quicked than dichlor. Using 1 teaspoon of dichlor and then 1 1/2 oz once a week is OK. Just be aware that if your tub gets cloudy for any reason, hit it with dichlor as a shock.
