Help me please!
« on: July 03, 2006, 12:41:45 pm »
OK I have enjoyed having my own site and all the leads that come from it , but recently I have recieved 2 offers to buy the domain name. I do sell a few spas here and there from it without even trying , my quandry is what is the value of a domain name. I never even thought of selling it , but with my busy schedule of the last six months and no sign of slowing in the near future I am second guessing the need of such a site. Even tho it is pretty cool being SpaMan! Any ideas would be helpful, as I am more than torn in two directions of this issue. My wife says "sell it" mean time I'm an egotistical male who loves being SpaMan.

I guess it all depends on the price. I would keep it unless it's for a ton of money.

Sell it to the highest bidder and give half the $$ to your wife to buy new shoes. Besides, Spaboy.com is still available so you can always switch to that!!

$10,000 is a reasonable price for "in-demand" site names.  A few go for really big dollars but there are a lot of companines out there trying to "steal" good ones away for under $1,000. So, throw out the $10K figure and see if it sticks.  Good luck.

Beware - most offers to buy your domain name are scams.

The following items determine what a domain name is worth.

1.  Traffic to the current site (if active)
2.  Closed sales (actual dollars) that stem from the above mentioned traffic
3.  What the buyer is willing to pay.

Spaman, I work in marketing so if you want to know what it is really worth PM me with the actual traffic counts and I'll approximate its value.

You can have the name appraised pretty cheap.

https://www.securepaynet.net/gdshop/dna/appraisal.asp?prog_id=pm&ci=4408&se=%2B

Go to the real source where it is only $4.99, not a reseller pretenting to offer this service at an increased price https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/dna/appraisal.asp?se=%2B&ci=4371

Again, beware - most of these things are scams.

Well I appreciate the warning of scams , however both these guys wanting it are from within the industry and both of whom I have known fro years. So not a scam I just need to get them to agree to a value.
