Vita Spa Nuage (L700) Circulation Settings
« on: July 13, 2006, 11:03:21 am »
I have a new Vita Nuage (installed 3 weeks ago) and I am looking to change when the circ pump runs.  If I press program, then view a  couple of times, it will allow me to choose either 12 or 24 hours a day.  I am thinking that 12 hours a day will be sufficient, however I woudl like to choose the right 12 hours.

See, I generally use the spa in the evening, say 10-11PM.  Then add Spa56 after I get out, run the jets while I clean up and dry off and close up for the night.  The problem is, when I shut off the jets, the circ pump is not running and I would think that would be the best time for it to be running.  So I set it for 24 hours, go to bed, then reset to 12 hours when I get up.

I am thinking that a 4PM-4AM cycle would be best as the circ pump adds a degree or 2 of heat to the party (HEET pump).

How do I go about setting the pump to do that??

THX all!

I think it splits the time between morning and evening, but I don't know exactly when it runs because I just run mine for 24 hours.

There is no way to choose the time, you have to fool it  by changing the local time in the controller.  I do this sometimes when I want to run the filtration for 3 hours without going out every thirty minutes and turning it back on.

Would the ozinator also be turned off if the circ pump is off?

Should I go 24X7?  What would the impact be to my electric bill?  Are we talking $3-5/month?

How will this effect wear on the pump and ozinator?

I run mine 24-7.  Over the last year, my hot tub has caused my electric bill to go up $1 a day.  I use it almost every day.

I don't know, but  I  know when my ozinator went into summer mode, my water looked like crap.  So,  is it worth it? Would any savings in electric be offset by having to toss more chems in and running the 2hp pumps for a while to clean it up?

Your circ pump adds 2 degrees to the water temp?  Wow.  Is your tub full foamed or a TP desing?

I'd don't have the answers, just thinking out loud.  One way to find out if it's worth it, is to try, and let us know how it went for you.  :)

I am unsure of the exact temp gain, but I do know with the cover closed, it does raise 1-2 degs.  Vita has some deal where the circ pump is surrounded by tubing so it captues the heat from the pump.  If I run the pump (not the heater) while in it, the outlet is slightly warmer than the ambient water (probably 1-2 degs).

My H20 is a bit cloudy as well, so I may try 24 X 7 and see what it does to the electric bill as I use my spa 4-5 nights a week as well.
