Tub finally arriving now no electrician
« on: June 28, 2006, 08:02:48 am »
Well, our wait continues. Our tub finally arrives tomorrow after waiting 5.5 weeks. We called our electrician, who made arrangements with weeks ago, to let him know when the tub will be here. Unfortunately our tub took too long (originally it was suppose to take 3-3.5 weeks) and he is now working on a new housing development. He can't come for at least 2-3 weeks maybe longer. So here we go back to the drawing board trying to find an electrian. I guess the good thing is that we can at least be able to look at the tub on our deck :-/

Anyone have a good electrician in CT?

Huh. How big of a job did the electrican say it would be to wire it in?

Some jobs are pretty straight forward and would only take a few hours.  Perhaps calling the electrican, letting him know how you really, really want the tub connected, and is there anyway he might find some time on a saturday or sunday  morning to fit you in? You'd be more than "appreciative" and could pay in cash.  ;)

Yes.  I am not above groveling.

Good luck. I hope your able to get the tub connected and running ASAP.

I am totally not opposed to groveling :)

I am just frustrated. He is the electrician the dealer recommended. We decided to go with this guy since he has wired so many tubs.  In doing so I agreed to a travel fee since they are approx. 45 minutes away from us. Something I normally do not agree with especially since we were paying a premium for his services. I just wish he told us two weeks ago that if it was much longer he could not do it. Instead he said just call once delivery is scheduled and I will come over the same day. My guess is since it has been non-stop rain here for weeks with no end in sight he really does not want to travel to us.

I was suprised when I got my tub wired, the guy told me it would take 3 hours as he does most of the tub wirings for the spa dealer.  Took him 8 to 9 hours.  luckily everything is hooked up right and looks great.

I think I would mention it to the tub company in casual conversation since they reccomended this guy to you.  Maybe they can put some pressure on him to do it earlier.

It took my electrician about 3 hours.

I went with the one my dealer recommended too.

It even said on his business card "Spa Specialist".

But gosh several weeks seems too long to wait.

Hope you can get it done sooner.

Tell me that was on the electirican's card...nor the dealers. Even if it was on the electricians card, I'd be afraid.

I'm sure there is somebody local who can do it. It won't hurt to make a few calls to someone listed in the yellow pages. Good luck.

Drewstar:

They are my Cal Spa dealer's choice
to do the pre-install electrical work.

I am looking at the card right now.

It says:

            A ELECTRIC
Master Electrician               Spa Specialist
Bonded                                   Residential
Licensed                             Commercial
              469-767-7394

They were great.
Listened to my concerns.
Cleaned up site after digging, ect..
Very professional.
In fact I had them back just last week
to install some inside cabinet lighting.

Zep,

I was joking.  There  is a con artist who rebrands tubs on the internet and uses that phrase.   :P

Then the card would have said:

"THE Spa Specialist"

My electrician didn't understand it,  but I insisted he did the wiring from my main circuit panel to the spa disconnect immediately.  He wanted to do it all the same day.  But I knew a situation like yours would likely occur.  Plus I was capable of doing the last part.

I knew someone would beat me to that joke. Actually I'm suprised the phrase spa specialist is not censored.  ;)

Have him do an internet search on spa specialist. Maybe he would want to rewrite that to "Specialist in hot tub/spa electrical installation.

Ditto!

I would call every local licensed electrical contractor in the book.  If your AC stopped working, would you settle on 2-3 weeks to have a licensed HVAC company come out?   >:(

Let your fingers do the walking, so you can start soaking.  :D
