I found a new job!
« on: June 20, 2005, 01:51:34 pm »
So...I may not be able to check in as often as I have been.  But, this does not mean that I will not be available to bless all of the new tubs being bought and delivered!!!

I just thought it fair to let you all know!  I'm still going to be hanging around, you can't get rid of me, but just not as often!  (At least until I learn my new job!)

Didn't know you were looking!  I hope to have news in that area soon, if I'm lucky.

Congratulations Lori, are you selling spas? LOL

I had a strange dream over the weekend. I had planned to go to the  Aqua show and my husband couldn't go with, so I asked you.

We were on the same flight to Vegas, but when we got there Chas was there to meet and greet you and he wisked you off to work in the Hotsprings booth. I never saw you again LOL.

I think I'm spending too much time on the forum ;D

Good luck in your new job!

I have an opening! It doesn't pay well, but it is fun.I don't have time to waste arguing about the "Super crusty falls-apart" anymore so I would pay someone to do so.Any takers?Chas-you don't count I know you will continue for free.

Thanks guys and gals!  I didn't want to jinx myself by letting you know I was looking!  Actually, I've had my eye out for a good opportunity for a while now, but finally got an offer I could be excited about.  I have reached a plateau where I am at now, and really can't move any farther, and I needed more ability to go farther!

No, not selling hot tubs, but thought about applying for a secretary job at a local hot tub dealer (not the one I bought from).

Spahappy, I would be honored to go to Vegas with you and sell tubs.  We just wouldn't tell Chas it was me!  LOL!   ;)  Who am I kidding, he would figure it out, I don't sound like a Northerner!!!

So...I'm leaving a purchasing job that I have had for 8 years.  I am also leaving an employer that I have been with for 11 1/2 years (have had 3 positions).  Automotive collision repair and refinish products have lost their luster!  It used to be a very fun place to work, but it has slowly become a major stress in my life (hence the purchase of the tub).  Some of you know, I attempted to go to law school, but I was turned down (of course, I only applied to the 2 in my Metro area, so the chances were kind of slim).  So, I needed to make a different change!  I'm going to work for a local insurance company who provide health insurance to the educators of our country, as a disability claims adjuster.  This company has been ranked two years in a row (2004-05) as one of Fortune 500's 100 best places to work in the United States.  They ranked #11 in 2005.  They have great benefits (obviously), been around since 1960, and I have talked to a number of people who either work there, or know someone who works there, and they all have been there 15+ years!  So...I am looking forward to a new and different challenge!

Oh yeah, I have the potential for a whole lot more money than my (tight) current boss would ever dream of paying me!!!

Good luck Bill!

Steve, was that enough details?  LOL!   ;)

Thanks Chas!  I'll remember that!  You never know!   ;D

Thanks Spaman, I appreciate the good wishes!!

I'll keep you all updated!

Sometimes a change is as good as a rest right?

It sounds like a great opportunity and they are lucky to have you! Much success my dear!

And yes...the details were good! ;D

Congrats on your new job.  I also work in the insurance industry, in a company (not public held) that is consistently chosen as one of the best places to work in the MPLS/St.Paul area.

Hey Lori, Congrats!

I did the same thing you did 2 years ago and have NEVER looked back.

Now I "work to live" INSTEAD of "living to work." BIG difference!
