Let me guess. There's a holder for sanitizer, there's a holder for ph-up and one for ph-down.
Then, the machine does a test with an electric thingie that sees what the water needs, and then dispenses chemicals automatically.

Am I right?

If so, you better hope that machine never becomes self aware  (which they always do).
People everywhere could be jumping into vats of acid.

So if I were to purchase a HS spa before midyear, I will still be able to add the new system...as long as it's a 2005 or 2006 model?  Am I understanding this correctly?

Water care is very simple if you will allow it to be.  Most problems I encounter are from people OVERDOSING the spa.  It ain't rocket science!

I agree if a person will just stay regular ...once week is just fine for most people....when comes to testing and balancing pH and the like ....it is when people let it go 2, 3 weeks or longer that they run into problems and also you don't really need to tinker with it daily ....keep it regular and get into a routine and it should be easy and simple ....its not tough if you just are consistent with it .....

I think I smell frogs.  Does anybody else smell frogs?  Nature 2 was not invented by HS either, but you'd never guess by swallowing their propaganda.  Very dubious am I.  Chemistry does not change.  Marketing creates an impression, but substance is a different matter.

Bill, I think you are on to it.  The best marketing track is to make your weakness a strength, in order to do that, you create the "impression" and then let the imagination do the work.  It is almost like magic.

In the 80's we used to see filter canister closed and under pressure and they had by-pass springs in them.   When the pumps went on high, the "by-pass" would open and allow the water to by-pass the filter for maximum performance at the jet.  Otherwise, the filter would represent a reduction to water flow.  

Then you have a manufacturer that has a filter on each suction inlet to the pumps and they come up with the ingenious marketing phrase of "100% no by-pass filtration" that becomes a truthful statement.  Now, were not concerned with how many filters you have to clean, because we can now put them in the dishwasher.

I think it is amazing as we watch marketing unfold before our very eyes.

This is all about "water management", "water quality" and ozone, which no longer an option as it is included as a standard item.

It is almost like re-inventing the wheel, but calling it a something different, and marketing it as better.  I can see how people will believe it.

As we all know, this is not rocket science.  Water quality and water management are important issues.  And, consumers are very susceptable to creative marketing strategies.

Even children now how to s-p-e-l-l "relief", r-o-l-a-i-d-s.

I'm thinkig some kind of sustained release system.  Something that will eliminate the need to check sanitation levels on a regular basis.

Not tablets but something else for granular sanitizers.

I'm surprised (well, not really) that some of the folks on here seem to pooh pooh innovation.  It takes some thinking outside the box to be the industry leader.  That, plus a solid business plan, enormous purchasing power, strategic partnerships, and an eye towards the future that allow companies to be #1 for 20 consecutive years!  It's not easy, it takes commitment on the part of a whole lot of like-minded people.

I'm sure once it's implemented, everyone else will follow suit.

No It Is Not Salt.  Your maxxus had a salt water generator system in 2000.  It was short lived and tried by many others as well.  Spa water is a very hostile environment and then you add salt that is corrosive.  As we know, this is not rocket science, but it is one of the biggest problems the Hot Tubber must contend with until he get's it right.

Innovation is creative thinking and it makes things happen.  Marketing is what sells it.  That is no surprise.
