Celtic Women - PHENOMINAL Hot tub Music
« on: February 06, 2007, 11:34:33 pm »
Wife got me the DVD/CD combo for christmas and all I can say is WOW!  These women are AMAZINGLY talented!  One is 16 years old and has been singing since she was something like 4.  Another is one of the most celebrated Classical singers of today's modern age (she is only 19).  Another was the lead for Lord of the Dance and yet another is a champion fiddle + classical violinist (rare to be ggod at both).... I simply cannot say enough about the majesty of this performance.  They are on tour throughout the US for the nest few months.  My work may prevent me from seeing their show in person but the DVD is flat out amazing.

Oh yea, did I say that these ladies were good? LOL

Website for the production...

Tickets (not cheap but worth it IMHO)...

Lisa is my favorite. Here's her website (Make sure you have your volume turned up to hear one of my favorite songs from the DVD when you on Lisa's site) ...

19 year old phenom (classical and others).

That's Cherie Blier. She's a Boston Celtic "Dancer" (I guess they don't call them cheerleaders in Basket Ball). She also ownes a cheesecake store.

Cherie's dancing has is no reflection on how the Celtics are doing.   :P

They have nice voices, but still sound like Enya and Clannad clones a bit.

I've been a fairly big fan of Enya's longer than most.  I do agree that some of the music is similar but IMHO Enya's voice is almost "amateur-ish" compared to Hayley Westerna's voice.  She is classically trained and watching (and hearing) both this and a few other cuts of hers, I have become a fan.  My one dissappointment is that the tour will have either Hayley OR Meav (they are alternating segments of the tour).  Meav's natural Galeic capabilities are part of what also makes the production so "engaging".  Just booked my tickets to the March 23rd show in Charlotte, NC

hmmmmm- sadly, Haley was not included in the voice clips that I saw on the website. I'll have to look around, as I do enjoy celtic music. Its in my blood! ;) I like Enya's sister's voice a bit better than Enyas, I think. Been a while since I listened to any Clannad.

Try this site. Not certain what vocals you can find there but there is the overlay on the primary screen.  Of course, a Windows PC doesn't do this type of singing any justice but it may lead you to other links?
