Leaning towards Coleman

Does anyone have any thoughts on a Coleman 471 spa?

I live in central PA and plan on having it outside on my deck.

I have looked a similar HotSprings model, liked the moto massage, but did not like the fact you can not run all the jets at once.

We also liked the LA spa Oasis but the Coleman was about $1000 cheaper for the same features on the tub and seems to be of good quality.  

We are looking at $6300 delivered, steps, cover and chemicals with the deluxe package on the Coleman 471.

In the past we had looked at a the Sams Club model but ruled it out from advice on this board.  

Any input would be welcome, especially from Coleman owners.  (how about monthly electric bill in the winter)

coleman was a real contender while i was shopping.  i've read good things about them here.

I have a full-foam Coleman ice chest that I use a lot.  I also really like their lanterns, sleeping bags, and cooking stoves.  They seem to be high quality products.

I don't think that is the case.  This forum just doesn't have too many Coleman "regulars".  Coleman has a great reputation within the industry.  If you have found one that you like, you should buy it.

To be totaly honest, If I ever loose my Jacuzzi dealership, Coleman is one of my top 3 to replace them.

on this site. Hopefully the reviews will be
helpful in your decision.

If there was a Coleman dealer that was a regular poster in
this forum you would probably be hearing
how wonderful Coleman Spas are.

I would not make your total decision
of eliminating certain brands
just from posts in this forum.

Keep in mind this site is very informative and
helpful to spa owners.

Some of these professionals (like Terminator and many others)
are very knowledgeable on spas but
one must realize there is quite naturally a
bias towards what one is selling.

Thus you will often see
"a message between the lines" in posts
that imply "dont buy X brand of spa...
my brand is better"....no surpise but something
one should keep in mind.

Like Terminator always says....if you like a spa,
have tested it, studied it and feel it best suits
your particular need.....then by all means BUY IT!

When shopping for a spa, search top to bottom and stay left of the rest to find the right one for you.

Have an idea of what you want your spa to do.
Only look at spas that meet your criteria.
Take your time, don't rush into making a poor decision.

Stay within your budget.
Play the game, don't fall for salesmanship.
Realize there ARE differences between brands.
Important is the dealer.
Nowledge is your best ally.
Go and wet test and enjoy.

I agree, excetp with the "Only look at spas that meet your criteria."   I'd look outside your criteria,  if only to see what was there. I would also wet test a tub in the "next level" up to see if there was a major difference, as well as testing the next level down.

I have the Coleman 461 for about a year now and I absolutely LOVE it! The 471 was a major contender when I was making m decision. You got a great deal on it too! Just remember to wet test to make  sure it is the right one for you.

BTW we actually did or do have a Coleman dealer that frequents this site....where is spahappy?

Hello ReesePT my name is Spahappy and I've been selling Colemans for 12 years in North Dakota. The 471 deluxe is our number one seller, I recently learned from Coleman, it's also the number one selling Coleman model thoughout the nation.

The price you were quoted is a great price! As so many point out it's very important to wet test if you can.

That being said,  We only have room in my showroom for two wet spas on the floor. The Coleman 471 is always one of them because of the comfort of the seats and the therapy options.

BTW I've got big news Backpains. As of last week I'm not only a Coleman dealer, I'm now a certified Coleman spa technician.

I used to sell Coleman. Its a top notch spa with excellent dealer and customer support.

Only reason I dont sell them is that I couldnt get a long with the dealer I was working for.
