QCA Tubs?

Hi,

My buddy is thinking about a QCA Spa.  Actually it's one of those "you buy my spa, I'll by your insurance" deals.

I couldn't find much on "our" forum and wondered if anyone could share some insight on them.  I looked at the brochure but couldn't tell much.......about guarantee's, or service.

Can you help us out?

Personally doesn't sound like a really good reason to buy a spa no matter how good it is unless your buddy really needs to sell that insurance.

But only he can really answer that question I suppose.

Yup I agree!  I wanted to help him out by getting some 3rd party advise.

The above is probably safer for the spa than the inside of the factory is, given it's tendency to catch fire.
And the free bleachin' is just value added.

I've never heard of them.   The spas look to be pretty generic.  Lots of the same type of jets.  They say they've been building spas since 1966.  I'd like to find out what they were making back then since the portable spas didn't show up until the late 70s.  

As you will see in this forum a lot, it is best to wet test any spa before you buy it.  Make sure it is a well-insulated spa.  I prefer full foam, others here prefer the thermopane.  Some mfgs will claim the thermopane without really doing it.

Seem like a large manufactuer of  Budget spas.  Yuo would think you could find someone who owns one.

How big is the insuanace deal?   Your frined needs to remember that  an insurance policy can be cancelled. A shoddy spa sits in your yard for years.

QCA spas stands for quad cities area spas.  My understanding is that they originated from the quad cities area which includes Davenport and Bettendorf Iowa and the Moline and Rock island Ilinois area.

They have a shop here in cedar rapids and they do a fair amount of business among those that like to shop with a local business and like to feel as if they are supporting a company with roots to their state.

Not a whole lot of information to be found out there.  I have seen them my self and I have a friend who owns one and really loves it.  They are a less expensive spas so you get a much larger spa for the money.

I decided against them mostly becuase there was little out there to confirm or discredit the quality of their spas.

The first time I went in there the sales person told me it was better than a HS spa.  I took a look and said to my self "I don't thnk so!".

I've never heard of them either. I wouldn't take a hot tub from a company I hadn't heard of or from any of those other "low budget" spas that are available in most big box retailers. Stay with one of the more trusted brands.

They are one of those smaller, regional manufacturers that we seem to have in all markets.  Cut lots of corners for which customers end up paying for.

When selling spas in Iowa, QCA really pushes the whole support Iowan economy pitch.  I always tell the customer that they make wooden shoes down in Pella, Iowa, and as I notice your wearing a pair of Nikes...

I just don't understand why, when we all know how the manufacturers get their ratings, would anyone be a 2-star?  I don't get it.
