Delivered the 'machine' last evening around 8 pm.  Did not want to warm it up then so waited until this am.  At 8:15 went out and took a reading on my electric meter, 046376 and hit the breaker.  By the time I figured what the control panel does and all the variations etc, the temp read 77F and so I just let it cook.  At 11:15 everything was up to temp and and the unit went to sleep @ 101F.  Took another reading on my electric meter 046396.  Exactly 20 KW hrs.  Wow, got my last electric bill out, $.049 for electric and $.049 for fuel cost.  Total = $.098/ kw hr.  = $1.96  Very reasonable.....

I like to use a buck a day for an average. And a heat up can double or triple that depending on outside ambient and initial water temp and type of circulation/heating system. My water usualy starts at 49 degrees here in the northland so it has a ways to go. We pay .07 here for hydro, but with my duel fuel rate I can sometimes have it as low as .055

$.09 a kw.  Boy I wish ours was that low.  In Texas they have raised ours to over $.14 kw.  It is killing me.

Congrats, what spa did ya get?

Its a Vita...I only wish that I had bought one much earlier in life.  I had a pool (22 yrs) in a previous house, but enjoy the spa so much more.  

Have been monitoring the power consumption, so far really pleased.  The spa by design is running 2 hrs in morning, 2 hrs in afternoon for normal filtering, and cycles on/off when needed for heating.  According to my meter reading skills, it is taking about 3kw a day to do that...about $10 month.   Weather in my local area, (central Fla) is about 60 at night and 85 in day.

Still trying to get the chemicals right using the dealer starter kit of Spa 56, Ph up/down and defender.  The 'CH' is low, nothing in kit to adjust this, will do some calling today.
