Ain't me.  We did buy a select comfort bed. Only after did I find that Lindsay Wagner didn't come with it.

Bought a queen size Select Comfort 5000 back in April and my husband and I just LOVE it!!!

You do have to buy the deep pocket sheets because the mattress is so thick, and I would recommend king size blankets.

We are making do with our old comforter set, but when the time comes to change it out, I will get a queen size dust ruffle, and a KING size comforter.  Right now, we just pull it longer on the side that shows to the open bedroom door and no one is the wiser.

Give it a "wet-test"!

It's not me but I recently went through the matress shopping experience. I wet tested tons of them and imo, nothing beats a Simmons Beautyrest. I purchased mine during a Holiday weekend as that's the best time to buy items such as mattresses.
I got mine 40% off! .......and no they just didn't spike the prices before the sale. I know b/c I was shopping for a couple of months and that's really how much I saved.
Believe it or not I got it at Mattress Giant. It's like buying a hot tub, you must wet test! Good luck.  :D

I have to admit I was a store manager for a bedding chain around Boston for a few years.  I myself prefer the comfort and construction in a Sealy mattress. If you look at the number of turns in a coil and the guage of the actual coil you will see a difference between say the Simmons and a Sealy. Just my 2 cents :)

What's the best mattress??  Depends on what you're using it for.   ;D  Some like to engage in other activities other than sleeping on their mattress.   ::)

We just tried out a Sealy, I believe, that was a "Latex" bed with no springs whatsoever.  It was great!!  We're going to wait until the next big sale before we buy.

Well, this is just my problem. We went last night and ordered a Simmons Beautyrest...something something pillow top...and when I went on WTB Mattress...I read so many negative posts and reviews..
I thought I did my homework and I have Simmons on my kid's beds and they love them...and so do I.  It just blew my mind that there were all these complaints...so I also checked on complaint.com and found similar info...as well as epinions. So now I am trying to figure out if it is because of the visco foam pillow top...or what..I was actually headed out to cancel my order...now I better wait and think since you guys are telling me something completely different.
Darn...Hot Tubs and Mattresses...they have to be the toughest things to buy:o  :o

What's the best Matress?  Why, just  like hot tubs you want a  full foamed ones of course.  ;)

I've got a  motionless, soft sided waterbed...(yea, I know, que the cheesy porn music...).  Actually though it fits in any regular bed frame, (mine is in a conventional T-Ville, cherry sleigh bed frame.) It has 2 zones so you can fill each side the way you want it, and has a heater on each side. It can be very cool in the summer and as warm as you want in the winter. It has a very slight motion to it, very much unlike the full motion beds of the 70's.  It takes regular sheets, and it's great for the back.  I love it.

Bonnibelle.....since you brought it up .....

Someone at work told me something last week that I had
never heard before and I was wondering if it is actually true.

This lady told me that any mattress over 8 years old has
an enormous amount of bed mites.

She said no matter how clean you are....
No matter how much you wash your bedding
That all mattress' after a few years have huge mite populations.
Sometimes as many as a million mites in one bed!

She did say there was an exception something called
a "Tempur-Pedic" is made and sealed in such a
way that the mites can not burrow into it, but that they
can still live and breed in your pillows and other bedding.

YUCK!

Dust mites are a way of life, and if regular hygene and laundry processes are used, are a non issue for most people.  But sales and marketing people like to use them to scare potential customers to their products.  Rather like the over hyped anti-bacterial products.
There is also a WTB-Lawnmower forum, for those keeping track of this stuff.

We have a Select Comfort bed, have owned it for almost 9 years, and wouldn't ever go back.

I saw a clip on TV about this too. I just wonder how did they get there?  If the mattresses are new, and by law they are supposed to be...How could the mites get there in the first place?  I think the allergy companies claim that you have mites in bedding that feed on dead skin (and many people are allergic to them) but you can avoid the problem by encasing the mattress and washing sheets in very hot water.

I can see how that foam would prevent them from establishing themselves since it is not as open as the pillow top materials and fluff. We tried the foam..and I just don't like it, I also hear it is hot to sleep on.

I wish there was a What's the Best Piano forum  :-/
Thanks ;)

If you are considering a tempur pedic or similliar mattress material (this is the "memory foam" products) try them out first. I found the material comfortable, but very hot. The matress doesn't breath well and kind of conforms around you and  I was very uncomfortable.  :P

Yeah...that is all I need HOT!  Come in from the hot tub and get even hotter...I think someone on here mentioned how their wife needed a cool down period before she could go to sleep...that's me..so NO HOT mattress! I also read on that Mattress forum that some of the memory foam material in pillow tops will break down from sweating..so that is a weird thought but maybe that is why there were so many complaints..I am trying to figure that out...why..is it the pillow top material or does it have to do with the coils?  I think I may design a line of bedroom hamocks...that sounds good to me.. :o
