MPS Shelf Life
« on: December 05, 2005, 08:13:27 am »
I like to buy in quantity in order to keep the price down (and I don't run out as often!). Online I found a 25# bucket of MPS (potassium monopersulfate) which I use for shock.

Anyone know if this stuff has a shelf life? At the rate I use it, 25 lbs. would last a lonnngggg [/u]time! I'm only using a few ounces once or twice a week.

Might even be a lifetime supply. Or I could pass it out as Christmas presents to friends with hot tubs or pools...The choices are endless...::)

Is there a shelf life? ???

Not a mountain lake? Then it's still a chemical soup!

I don't recall seeing any expiration dates on my container of MPS.  Keep the stuff dry and you'll probably never need to buy MPS again.  Maybe you could split the order and the cost with fellow spa owners.  Maybe even some members of this forum, if you have any nearby.

No problems as long as you keep it away from moisture.
