Shiner is celebrating their 96th anniversary, so they have released a Marzen-style commemorative beer I'm going to try as soon as it gets cold.  As they say in Bavaria, "Prosit Ya'll!"

BTW, the beer  I have pictrued is Penn Brewery's Oktoberfest.  This is an authentic German brewery on Pittsburgh's north side.  A great place, been there MANY times.  Check out their website: www.pennbrew.com
The owner even brought over one of the top German brewmasters.  This man is SERIOUS about beer.
The next time I get to Texas, I'm gonna look you up. I'll bring some Penn Brewery beers and we can shoot something up!!

This Marzen-style Shiner is good!  Kind of sweet like hiney.  I like it a lilltle bit darker and   hevier.... good stuff alrithty then.

Hey Term, I was thinkin' younz guys down 'thar in the great state of Texas got it backwars.  Marzan is a spring beer, Oktoberfest is a fall beer.  We all are getin' redy for good 'ol St. Nick Bock Beer for the upcomin' winter. Sure does keep them old bones warm.  Ya'all take care and we hollar at ya later.

I just read the dad-burned little label that says "Marzen is brewed in March (Marzen) to be enjoyed in the autumn".  So I guess I'm drinking some old beer?
