21 year old hot springs
« on: July 31, 2005, 10:12:02 am »
I was servicing the computer of one my regular customers this weekend I noticed their hot tub in the backyard.  He proudly mentioned it was 21 years old, never had a problem with it and still loves it.  He mentioned that it was a 110v model, never cost him more than $15 a month to run and he thought it was an "indoor/outdoor" model. It looked about 6'x6 ft, but didn't get a good look.

Sadly, with the quest for more power, more complicated jets and special features, maintenance will be part of the process of owning a modern spa.  It is comforting to know that with a good manufacturer, you will get a long life from major components of your tub.

The "Indoor/Outdoor" was renamed the "Sovereign" because it was increased in size and would no longer easily go through a standard doorway.

Most likely had four or five jets total, and only filtered when the jets were on.

I have many customers with tubs of that vintage - they sure seem to love them.

That Just shows why one needs to buy from a manufacture that has been in buissnes for a long time an has a good reputation.

I met a lady at the Boat Show earlier this year who has had hers (HotSpring Indoor/Outdoor) for 24 years and has never had a service call on it.  I get quite a few customers tell me similar stories when they come in to buy supplies.
