Author Topic: Cloudy Water--low ph and Alklaine (Read 2254 times)

Newer tub owner here. Everything has been going great. Except today. haven't used tub for 2 days opened up cover and cloudy water. Tested with test strip and wife and I noticed very low ph and alklaine. Would this cause this and if so what to use to bring those 2 things back up. Any and all info appreciated greatly. Thanks. How low are the pH and alkalinity readings? �If both are low, add sodium bicarb (baking soda, or pH up) if just pH is low -- sodium carbonate (soda ash).

How about the sanitizer levels? �Sanitation is the first place to look with cloudy water.

The other item that I recommend doing is making sure that the filter is clean. Definately raise the Alkalinity and PH as well.

When my pH & TA are low, I get the same problem. A bit of pH up and TA balance, and the problem goes away 100% of the time.

I posted about this problem before, and didn't get a response, so I'm not sure if this is common.

What is your Ca Hardness at?
