Cal Zone Quest 2000 Ozonator
« on: June 20, 2005, 11:25:59 am »
Hello All,

Can someone please help me find information on the Cal Zone Quest 2000 Ozonator?  I would like to know how often the manufacturer recommends replacing the chip/card on the front of the Cal Zone Quest 2000 Ozonator.

I do not want opinions.  I want to be able to print out the manufacturer's guide on how often this item should be replaced.

Thanks,

Chris

No, this ozonator requires maintenance.  It is not maintenance free.

Hey, Hope everyone enjoyed their lunch. The manual only talks about a 1 year warranty, and that the cartridge should be changed periodically as the purple glow dims or disappears. No exact mention of timeframe. What is the issue of the cartridge. In salestraining they talk about every two years, though I'm sure that is an opinion.Let me know if I can help. ;)

First off spaman,
Thanks for being so open about helping out with info for us on this. That's a new treat on Cal products here.

Second, did the manual specifically state "as it dims?"

How would one know for sure that it was dimming with a purple light unless you had another to compare it to?

Is that made by Del? If so I can get more specific info from them...

The amount of zone decreases with the age of the UV bulb so there is no exact time where it needs to be changed (unless its totally fried). There are varying opinions as to time frame for change as I hear 1 yr on the low end and 2 years on the high end. We tell people to change their bulb about every 18 months so I guess we cut it down the middle. When people hear this and factor in the cost of a UV bulb they are more open to spending a bit more to get a CD unit.

I believe the ozonator in question is a corona discharge style.

When he mentioned a purple glow I thought he was referrring to the bulb. I guess that's why we need the Cal Spa guy to answer.
