My wife and I bought a pearl Grandee last weekend for 8495 in Atlanta may have paid a little too much who knows?? Anyway I am wondering what accessories I need to get?? Any spa accessories I could use as presents for my wife for Christmas?? Like cutesy ones not like filters etc? Speaking of filters what will it cost to upgrade to the triX ones?? Also what should I have to pay for the different plate for the motomassage??

Spa fragrances, In-Spa-Ration makes a few gift packages that she will find appealing. Or how about a towel rack, or booster seat, or some lights to put around the outside of the spa area???

I cant tell you what TO buy, but I can tell you what NOT to buy as the novelty of them wears off pretty quick and then you just have to buy a Rubbermaid tub to store them in

Rubber ducks (I have about 8 of these dumb things, they look so much cuter on the web than they do in my filter well)

Floating families (again, looks cute but what do you do with them other than fill with water and squirt each other?)

Plastic playing cards (who wants to play cards in a hot tub??? What was I thinking???)

Battery-operated swimming fish (ok, this guy is really REALLY cute, but he just gets in the way. Good for showing off the tub tho, friends get a kick)

waterfilled booster seats (these things are heavy to lug around, cant leave them in the tub, and they dont give you much of a boost. Mostly they just become 7-8lb frisbees for my sons)

Where have you been? Great advice, btw!

A nice robe, as tuo mentioned is a great idea (I got a nice one monogrammed and some fuzzy flip flops from my Mom). A friend of mine made me a basket last year, with some spa fragrance, a small bottle of wine (or cider, or anything festive), a couple of luxury bath sheets, and some nice lotions (I use to moisturize when I get out)!

It's worth a thought!

We bought some plastic wine glasses and drink glasses, the ones with the palm trees on them!
I also bought a matching ice bucket and wine cooler too.

They are actually very good quality and very much in style lately!

These are a must have IMHO if you plan on drinking anything other than what comes out of a 12 ounce bottle.

Robes and some nice towels come to mind, I also bought a nice coleman patio heater to take the chill off the night air.

Good list so far.

inSPAration also makes "AfterSPa" for moisterizing after soaking.

A towl/robe tree can be a nice thing to have near the tub too.

For those that can't use snow a cooler, a cooler for beveridges is nice, unless you own a Coleman C480 because the tub comes with one.

Congratulations !!!! On your Grandee Purchase. It's a Great Tub. I've emailed RHtubs several times now asking if they sell the TRI-X filters but so far there's no response. I want to replace my filters with the TRI-X filters too.

Congratulations on your purchase - I think you got a good price !!

The list above is pretty good - Jonathon mentioned plastic wine glasses. I would add plastic drink tumblers, snack tray, dishes or whatever you like. Anything that you would normally use in glass, replace with plastic.

The robe is a winner all the time.

And I agree: rubber duckies are a loser gift.

What about the Tri-X filters? How much are they gonna cost me?? Will they decrease the output (power) of the spa??

The Tri-X filters reduce the resistance to flow, so they add to the power of the jets. Now, whether or not you could ever FEEL the difference....

The price is up to your dealer, but if you can get them before you get the other ones wet, he can charge you the difference and put your regular ones on the shelf.

Cool, then let's get started on "Guy" things for the tub! How about a new laser level so you can check the level of the pad week by week and see if it moving? Or, maybe a new dewalt drill so that you can open the equipment if needed to check things. Let's not forget that new Sears power washer so that you can clean the filters
