My car was a 79 Camaro (junk),  I still have my hair, just not the same color, I never had the abs, and like most white men, can't jump.  The only thing I had in the 80s that I don't have now is a 125 pound blonde wife :)

My car was a 1974 Buick Electra- had a 35 gallon gas tank, and I got 8 mpg- city, freeway, whatever.
That tank was bigger than my first appartment.
No wife till later in decade, but brunette.
I never had the abs, still don't, still have my hair, only a bit less of it, and it's slowly going grey.
But at least by the 1980's disco music was finally dead- except that what replaced it wasn't all that much better.

I still maintain that the rock music from the late 1960's thru the late 1970's is the best.

Early 80's = riding my bicycle to my friends' houses...being a good, midwestern kidlet with a bright future... ;D

Late 80's = getting in trouble for breaking curfew by several days...getting in trouble for doing relatively UN-legal things that caused several of my brain cells to skip town without leaving so much as a parting gift... >:(

I really can't say as I miss the 80's for any reason other than some really great concerts I attended......  :-/

Yep, it a DeLorean.  Rich kid, or a model in a DeLorean add?  You decide.

Are you really trying to say you prefer 60s/70s rock  from bands like the Stones, Who and Zepplin over the 80s rock from legendary bands like Night Ranger, White Snake and Poison?

Personally, yes I do prefer Zepplin, ect....  But that's not to say I don't like the bands you listed.
I enjoy the 80's rock stuff, just not quite as much as the 70's.  And it's only my opinion, and probably roots back to when I was a teenager- Those are the bands I saw in concert.  And those are the bands I bought the albums of.
By the time Night Ranger and pals hit the scene, I was doing the parenting bit, and spent my music money on Pampers, Similac, and Amoxycillin.  So I just heard their stuff on the radio here and there, but wasn't "into" the bands like I was in the 70's.

Just to age myself-
I first saw the Eagles play in concert back in maybe 1977 or 1978.  The appeared at a huge outdoor concert at the old Met Stadium (The Mall O America is there now).
Price of admission was $10- and I got to see:

Pablo Cruise (Warmup band- no big deal)
Steve Miller Band
Eagles- including Joe Walsh.

All for $10.

Last time the Eagles played here, price of entry was somewhere around $100+.  And they sold out.
And I don't think Joe Walsh was with them.

I was actually being sacastic. I should have said Duran Duran and Thompson Twins and you would have gotten it better.

I'm in a time warp myself because I still prefer to listen to VH, Who, AC/DC, Eagles, etc. just like it was 25 or 30 yrs ago whenI was a teenager. What's funny is my teenagers go through my CDs and download a lot of what I like. We were out one night and one had a Beatles shirt on and the other an AC/DC shirt and some guy decided to be a wise ass and said "You kids like that music huh, name two songs of each" They rattled off about 5 each and then my smart ass 13 yr old says "name the 5th Beatle" and the guy was like "um, wow, you guys really do listen" and he walked away looking like a fool.

I think everyone belives the best music was the music that was popular while they were in high school.

Me? I graduated in 82.

Springsteen

The Who

ACDC

Styx

REO Speedwagon

all these come very quickly  to mind as being big.    Punk was just getting going and techno rock was slowy creeping in as well.

/good times.   :)
