I "Overshocked"

We re-filled today and I think I over-shocked. Ph and Alk look to be in balance, but bromine and chlorine levels are reading "very high" on test stip. Also, there is white residue floating on surface of water (not gunk, sort of like a very low foam all over surface).

So I think maybe I measured wrong and overshocked.

What do I do? Wait it out? Will levels go down on their own? I've heard sunlight takes chlorine levels down, but we have rain in the forecast here so I don't think leaving the cover off tomorrow will get much sun in.

Any ideas? We're not getting in until levels are down (sniff)...

You could partially drain and refill but I'd wait overnight and see what the level are tomorrow.

Thanks. I think I'll wait a bit. We're on an old, shallow well. Even with all the wet weather we've had, we take draining and refilling pretty seriously here!

Remove the cover for at least one hour. Run your jet pumps on low with the venturi air valves(if you have tem ) open. This will help get the sanitizer levels down.
