Checking in to report I’m still losing my mind

That is all

P.S , if quoted 8999 for Jetsetter NXT

Think I can walk in (cash in hand ) and walk out the door

For it at 8000 ?

I hear you can get taxes you paid on it back if a doctor suggests it ?

As an FYI - HotSpring recommends their dealers sell the Jetsetter NXT for $8,899 with cover, delivery, and chemicals.  If you are getting a set of steps, coverlift, etc with that price the price is in line.  Certainly a fair deal.  The regular Jetsetter is recommended at $7,399.  The NXT isn't designed to be priced low.

Chris_H, serious question here, are you a Hot Spring dealer?  Reason I ask is that I have been with Hot Spring for almost a year now and have never been told a suggested selling price of a hot tub.

they won't give one...I've been through every one of their sales training classes...Sales 1, Sales 2, Top Gun, Star, etc. and not once have I heard them give a "recommended price" they would always stop and say "at dealers discretion" or give a wide range which is how they are supposed to do it.

It is called price optimization and yes it is at dealers discretion.
However, if you are fluctuating too high from the optimized price you really won't sell any spas.
I stand by my original comment of the 'optimized price.'  Anywhere within +-$500 of that is fair, IMO.

And to really throw a monkey in your wrench, it's not a "Jacuzzi" or "Jacuzzi market".  Jacuzzi is a brand name.  It's a HotSpring spa.   ;)

Have you looked at any other brands?    There are several out there that are every bit just as good. Least it would give you a different price option/comparison.

If they offer me 8999 , they should take 8500 cash
A sale is better than no sale
They got to be making close to 2 grand off me

Yes I’ve considered Aspen Spas (but they are not local)

And Bullfrog as well

(but the price for a tub similar to the Jetsetter NXT was around the same price)

I swear , a market full of savages

They technically don't have to budge off the $8,999.  Every dealer has different overhead cost and cost of doing business.  I do agree that a sale is better than no sale, but there does come a point where the profit is too low to make it worth their while.  Be polite and be prepared to buy on the spot if they accept your offer.  I absolutely hate it when a customer beats me up on pricing and is not ready or willing to commit.

A market full of savages or a market full of people that have employees, rent, insurance, and many other expenses to pay?  Say they are making 2 grand that goes quick. I have no idea how much that tub should sell for but I sell a more expensive 3 person tub then that. If you want to be close to 7k why not just get the non NXT version?  Have you offered $8500 yet?

If I was $8999 firm I'd certainly knock off something for cash, maybe not the 6% you're countering with but I think this is a good approach and why not ask for more than they might be willing to give because it might start a counter. Not all dealers react the same way/degree when you mention cash but its certainly better for them and a good negotiating tool.
