Salt water tub with traditional chlorine (diChlor) treatment?

So why not get some of the benefits from salt water (softer silkier water) but bypass the expense of adding the chlorinator and just add chlorine as usual?

Yes, I understand you don't get the other benefits of having to add a lot less chlorine yourself and that having the chlorine being generated from the salt is a purer form of chlorine...but still it would work fine wouldn't it? Basically just adding salt but treating as you normally do.
