Unique hot tub placement
« on: June 01, 2017, 08:30:20 am »
Greetings all,

Am moving into new house next week, (leaving my HS Aria in old home). New house presents challenges for new hot tub location. Am looking to wet test a smaller unit (Jet Setter, Kauai) in near future. We want the new tub indoors, like the previous one for many reasons (ventilation/humidity control mitigation understood).

The new home has a steel beam framework that is quite substantial. A bonus room above 2 car garage is my initial thought. Has 4 skylights, full bathroom and water heater. I may have a structural engineer do a site survey to determine load capacity of the steel beams, or look at the architect's plans / permitting.

Water leakage is therefore, my biggest concern. Is there such a product as a PVC hot tub "pan" that lies below the tub to contain a small leak, similar to a water heater?

Thanks in advance for feedback!

Yes, but they are not designed, sold or advertised for hot tubs. Do a google search for water containment systems. Might have to add water heater or fuel something like that. http://www.plasticfabinc.com/
