Wet Testing Today, any advise???
« on: July 18, 2004, 11:02:16 am »
Goin out for our 1st wet tests tonight. This dealer carries Hot Springs, Tiger River and Liesure Bay. Shes closing the store at 5pm, and has about 5 tubs full, chem'd and ready to go. Besides the obvious "how does it fit and feel" is there anything else to look for?

On another note, if they dont have one of the tubs in stock, ie.. they have a HS Soveriegn, but not a Grandee, would it be safe to assume that if you like one of the tubs in a manufactures line, youll like the others?

Try out all of the combinations of pump and jet setting that you care to.  Everyone testing can try each seat.
Just be really creative and enjoy the process.  Bring some cold water with to drink, in case their isn't any at the dealer- you'll probably get a bit thirsty.
And don't forget your suits and towels!

I would't assume 100% that if you like Hotspring (or any other makes) model a, that you'd also like model b.  There may be seating differences and jet placement differences.  Ideally, you'd test the same model you are interested in purchasing.

Be sure to adjust the diverters and air intake. We weren't able to adjust the diverters on the Soveriegn unless we turned the pumps off.

Also be sure to try the pumps on low setting.

You may also want the dealer to adjust the temp for you. Our HS dealer had them set to 104, which was way too hot. It is not a plesent experience if the tub is too hot. My wife was about ready to pass out.

Kevin H,

Would you do me huge favor? Would you E-mail me with the city you live in? I would like to give that dealer a heads-up - no names I promise.

Thanks.

Also consider how much noise each one makes.  I know at times I can here my neighbors tubs.  Its not annoying at least from my distance. LOL

I would advise you to spend your money on spelling lessons.

Oh yes and avoid CAL SPA!

I agree, don't wear a suit if the dealer let's you in afterhours, and if it is convenient, bring a bottle of something or other. That was a great feeling for us.

Just hope that the dealer's security camera's don't end up taking too too many pic's that end up on the web. lol!
