Upgrading used tubs...2008 Marquis Spirit
« on: August 13, 2015, 11:43:55 pm »
Hi, this is my first post.  I of course have some questions.
I will be checking out some tubs this weekend.  There is a dealer who sells refurbished tubs.  One I am interestedin is a 2008 Marquis Spirit.  I called and the dealer says it's 120v with the 160 gph pump.  As I understand it that can not be true.  Questions I have for the dealer I thought I would run them by here first.

1.Is it possible to upgrade a 2008 Marquis Spirit from a 120 pump to a 160 if I find that the 120 is under powered for my taste.

2. This will be going in my house so space is tight.  How much space ideally should I have around the tub for repairs?

3.  2008 Marquis Spirit tub has new jets, headrests and cover.  It also has led lights.  They are asking $3,000 for the tub, in your opinion is this a good deal?

After lurking here on the forum I have learned a lot.  Is there anything else I should ask the dealer regarding a refurbished tub?
Thanks!

Only the 240v pump is the 160GPM pump.  You can upgrade it.  At least a few feet at the access panel for repairs.  Does the tub come with any warranty?  For 3k it should

6 months warranty.  I have decided to go with a 2007 Dynasty Neptune Oceana.  I like the look and feel of it a lot more and it seats more people without becoming a huge tub.  The guy is throwing in extra parts like a spare brainbox, jets, steps and deliver it right onto the pad I built.  No warranty but he refurbishes tubs as a hobby so he claims I can call him if something goes wrong and he will help me out.  1,750 is the price on this tub.  Not a steal as I can tell but it seems like a decent deal.
I will post pics when I have it up and running.
