Diverter Valve
« on: August 12, 2015, 01:11:39 pm »
I'm working on a hot tub I just acquired and I opened up the diverter valves.  Trying to figure out which position is open/closed.  When I popped the handle off and unscrewed the cap, this is what I saw:

Oddly, the black tube leading down to the ball valve is open on both sides to air, like I can see my hand by looking through the holes in the tube.  Is that how its supposed to be?

Also, I don't get how the white mechanism is affecting the state of the ball below and thus open/closing the valve.  It looks like it pushes down on the ball.  But when I try to do that manually, nothing happens.

Anyone else have this model of diverter valve that can provide some insight into the problem?

That's an air valve, not a diverter valve.  I'm unfamiliar with that style, but if it's not working typically you would just buy the new air control insert and that fixes the problem most of the time.
