When I started on this forum I was for Bullfrog A8 and a week later I have changed to Hot Springs Grandee.  I now don't know what to do!  Suggestions?

Help please to make the right decision!

What made you change your mind?  Both tubs are great tubs. Wet test both and see which one you like better then negotiate price

I would get either the Dimension One Nautilus or The Marquis Euphoria.

Both offer open seating, lots of soothing hydrotherapy with loads of great jets and power if you want it, great energy efficiency, a long standing reputation for longevity and quality, a manufacturer that backs their product, and a dealer network that has been in business for a long time.

I would buy the marquis epic or marquis show. I love the captains chair in the epic and the power in the show is unbeatable. Each seat has its own pump in the show so the hydrotherapy is unbelievable

Hot Spring Grandee NXT.

I love the look, but the moto is my jet.  I also love the new control remote.

Hot Spring 'Aria'....why: perfect size for me, fit in every seat/no floating at all, very strong jets/variety of jets, moto-massage in the lounger, 24hr circulation, very efficient/well insulated.....other minor reasons include: absolutely loooove the new cabinets and overall design/look of the tub itself

Yeah exterior wise they have done a nice job of looking like some other brands..  ;)

Yes you are correct, for years and years Hot Spring concentrates all its efforts on building a reliable, energy efficient spa...other companies concentrate on making it "pretty" so I don't mind that they were slightly behind the design curve  ;)

I don't either I think it has probably helped there sales.    Honestly I think the NXT is a great looking spa.   Curious if you have seen the new J-500 series.   Not really sure what to think of it yet, have not seen one in person.

Just watched that video. Tub looks real nice.  Agree with you on the new hot springs look.  Always felt they were great tubs they just looked plain and boring to me now the new look makes them look as expensive as they are

HI Debbie,

I know first hand how overwhelming it can be when you first start looking for hot tubs. You’ve made a good first step by using this website. In my opinion, it’s one of the best on the web for hot tubs.

Hot tubs are really such a personal thing that in some ways it is hard to give advice. As an example, the first question I suppose is what kind of budget do you have and what’s important to you?

For us, it was really important to get a well made tub that was going to be reliable. So that’s where we started. We began to research different brands of tubs that had a good reputation. Some of the ones that we were drawn to were Sundance, Hotsprings, Jacuzzi, Dimension One, Marquis and possibly Bullfrog and Arctic. I’m sure there are other good ones I’ve not listed. After we came up with our list, we then wanted to see which ones were in our area. We then looked into how long each specific dealer had been in business, how long they had handled the specific brand of tub, and what the dealers reputation was. After all that we started wet testing, although in truth we didn’t do a lot of wet testing as it turned out our choices were pretty limited (because our tub was going on a roof deck, we had some size and weight limitations).

So to me the three things that were the absolute most important were:

1. that it be a reliable tub built by a manufacturer with a reputation for quality;

2. that we bought from a reputable dealer that had a good reputation and who had been in business for a while and had sold that particular brand of spa for a while; and finally

3. that we were comfortable in the tub, and the only way you will know that for sure is by wet testing.

One quick story. We were originally quite interested in Hot Springs as they have such a good reputation. The one dealer we went to seemed to know very little about the spas. Quite honestly I knew more about his spas than he did. And secondly they would not allow wet testing. As soon as they said they didn’t allow wet testing I scratched Hot Springs off my list. Can’t stress enough how important it is to actually get in the tub, with water in it, and sit in the different seats, try out the jets, etc., before you actually make the purchase.

I would also consider the marquis euphoria and the dimension one nautilus. Also the hot springs grandee and possibly a high end Jacuzzi model.  I have wet tested the euphoria and thought it was a really cool tub but it was priced higher than I was willing to pay. I wet tested a D-1 model that had a lounge and didn't like it. I like the layout of the nautilus and D-1 is a quality brand. I have not wet tested the hot springs grandee or any jacuzzi but think both to be top quality brands.

Thank you soooooo much for your insight!  I'm kinda shy about wet testing but I did wet test the bullfrog.  I am going to try and wet test the hot springs tomorrow.  I was sold on the Bullfrog till I found out the dealer didn't sell very many of them.  I have a friend who has worked for the Dealer of Hot Springs for a very long time and I respect his opinion so I am now leaning for the Hot Springs.  For this kind of money I want to make sure I make a educated decision.  Want to pull the trigger in the next couple of days.

Just curious, but how was your wet test of the Bullfrog? What did you like and not like? What model did you wet test?
