A turkey Hot tub. :)

I'll be frying a Cajun spiced turkey up on Friday, for my annual, "No Family allowed, we got no left over's post Thanksgiving day party"   I think more people are showing up for the day after party than actual, traditional Thanksgiving. :^)

To make it even more rednecky, we're frying up snickers bars as well.  You know...just like the pilgrams did.

And of course, the bathing suit optional hot tub party.

Turkey, booze and a hot tub. We'll all be asleep by 2:00

We never did fried snickers, but it was suggested by some friends... so I'm going to give it a whirl. (I'll be using clean oil for that, I don't want them to taste like spicey turkey). Also gonna cut up some potatoes and try some home made freedom fries.

drewstar, you have got to fry some Twinkies!  Put them on a stick, dip them in funnel cake batter, freeze them, fry them, sprinkle powdered sugar and drizzle chocolate syrup, then serve.   Best...Dessert....Ever!

Do you freeze the twinkies first? I think I'll grab some and try it.

(The snickers recipe said to chill the candy first.

Also,  I'm making my own batter (taken from the web).  IT's said to be a "funnel" cake batter.

Flour, eggs, salt, sugar, baking soda.

Any experience and tips you can pass along?

I believe you freeze the Twinkie and the batter.  That's how I've seen it done.  I think you fry them til they float.

Don't forget the powdered sugar and chocolate syrup, or you can add blueberries or raspberries.  Get creative and get some pics!

Freeze the batter? I dunno.   My limited cullanary skills has proven that cold batter doesn't work as well?  I was told to put sticks in the candy, chill. dip in the batter and fry till golden brown.

I just called the wife...."Hey pick up some twinkies too!" I sugggested.

She called me  Homer Simpson.   ::)

I think if you don't freeze the batter, it's going to be extra crispy while the Twinkie is still frozen.  I'm telling you, that's the way they do it at the State Fair of Texas.  Fair folk know better than us.

Hey you Americans have got this Thanksgiving thing right.  Us Canadians do it in October, and it's only a Monday.  You have the Thursday as the offical holiday, and then everyone take's off Friday....Nice!!! Then you have your biggest shopping day of the year before Christmas....where we have our big shop the day after Christmas.  Mind you, we do have government health care...oh never mind.

Happy Thanksgiving to all you American hot tub lovers.

Never argue with a carnie.

I'll try  some dipped and frozen battered and some at room temp.

Mark, that is a blue Jetsetter.

BTW, my little pro sports project that you were interested in at one point is still in the works.  We are in the middle of negotiating expansion of our territory.  IF our proposal is accepted, I'll spill the beans to you.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed at this point.
