Gravel Pad
« on: May 21, 2014, 09:17:01 pm »
Hi all, thanks in advance for all your help.
We have decided to build a Gravel pad for our new hot tub and would love to know step by step how to go about this. Having never done this befor I feel very confident I can do it, I would just love to draw on anyone who has done it.
Not sure how deep to dig?, what type of gravel ? do i need to pack it down ? How do I tell if its level ? I was thinking of putting
2 by 6 planks of wood to hold it all in.
Anyway if any of u have gone though this we would be very grateful for your insight.
Again thanks so much

Personally, I prefer gravel, mixed with sand, cement, and a little water
If you can't sell it on eBay, it may not even qualify as landfill.

Retired (mostly) from the industry after 33 years...but still putzing around with a consumer information website, and trying to sell obsolete owners manuals

You can make a box with 2 x 6's and just fill it in with gravel.  The boards keep the gravel from washing out.  Use a level on a straight board to level it.  It doesn't need to be perfect.

Good luck!
