New to hot tubs. Could do with some help.

Hi.

First of all, let me say how glad I am to have found this forum!

I'm looking to buy my first hot tub. The only problem is that it needs to go in my back yard, but there is no access to it, apart from through a small doorway at the side of the house, or through the house.

I've considered hiring a crane, but that seems like a ball-ache.

Does anyone know if it is possible to buy the shell, pumps etc. separately, and assemble them myself?

I've been searching the web quite a bit, but apart from places like Ali Baba, I can't seem to find anywhere that sells the shells on their own.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Read some of the other posts, I've only started recently, but it seems the cost of the crane is not as much as many would initially imagine.   "Only" a few hundred dollars.   Search for "crane".  I think one post had only $150.   $500 even may be worth the cash to ensure a tub that works, warranty, etc., not to mention the time and effort to acquire and assemble the parts.  There are also a few threads with photos documenting the crane install, they are neat. Welcome to the forum!    While the Crane would certainly get the attention of everyone in the neighborhood, its not that uncommon and you will find a lot of pictures here of people who have done that to get their hot tub delivered. Most dealers can at least point you in the right direction.

You don't say what size tub you are looking at, but there are several smaller 3 or 4 person tubs designed to fit through standard doorways.
