flo error - gecko artic spa
« on: September 03, 2013, 09:31:44 pm »
My artic spa throws a flo code. I have a gecko in.xe pack and whitewater pump. New filter no air in lines and valves fully open. I had the low speed pump humm occasionaly so I thought it must be the pump.  So I swapped the low and high speed leads so on low signal the high speed pump starts and vice versa thinking that this would totally satisfy the flow sensors but it still throws the flo error. These are electronic sensors.
Any ideas?

Hi mate , first of all shut down the power , remove any filter , put power on and wait ... If you keep having this flo error code then let me know how many pump you got and equipment you got and we will see if you have the proper low level. Does this code appeared after you filles up your spa or after you put new filter?

Tried restarting electric with no filter. Filled a few weeks ago. Two pumps gecko in.xe. its not the filter or air in lines

Remove any floating obstacles, toys, scum bugs, dispensers etc and run it briefly with the filter removed.
This will determine if your filters require replacing.

After this, I guess i'd want to confirm that the pumps are actually running.
If so, maybe the flow switch is faulty or may just require a little adjustment.

How do you adjisy an electronic sensor? This is not a blockage/filter issue.  Plrase ready first post

Using a multimeter on ohms (resistance), You'd take a reading with the pumps stopped.
Then take a reading with the pumps running until a desired resistance is met.

This manual may have something that may help.
I doubt that it's for your Spa, but it may give some pointers/ideas.

I've just looked and this one doesn't show how to adjust the flow switch. Give me a short while and I'll check my other manuals.

Try page 76 in this one.

The adjusting screw will be fixed with loctite, so will be difficult to turn at first.

Good luck

L comes up but not LL (I checked this a few days back). I believe it is L7. Or am I looking for LL? Sorry I am not at tub right now.

its 100 % sure that you should see LL and the number is really important because that might cause the flow error . another important thing to check is the air lock... you have to be 100 % sure that you see water coming through your jets when your low speed pump is on . I Am pretty sure it is just the programation that is not right . you can call us at 1866-996-5169 if you need my help , we close at 5 tho

Sounds like it is either the pressure switch, or maybe then low speed capacitor on the pump. When you said you heard the pump humming, that makes me think it is the pump, and not the pressure switch. How old is the spa? If it is still under warranty, I would call your dealer. If not, you can check to see if you could just replace the capacitors, or replace the complete motor.
